Bridlington to Flamborough lighthouse and back. Unfortantly, couldnt go out to guisborough yesturday due to my head gasket going on my 306 on saturday night. So im now car less, lucky i got my bike! lol.
so does that mean you wont be able to make it on sunday then mate??????
affaid so mate, wont be able to make many rides now for a while. Most I can get to is to dalby with my mate in his van, but its not always possible as he works weekends etc.Yorkshire Man living in Somerset

Thanks mate, theres photos from my skye trip on my flickr link btw. Lucky we hired a van for skye, seemed easier then putting bikes in the car for 11hours each way! Hope to have a car soon, earliest could be end of April/May, not to far away!Yorkshire Man living in Somerset

There looks like there is some bloody good singletrack up on Skye, that's the stuff I like, bit of gravel with a few rocks thrown in. Was it fast riding?0 -

very fast, quiet good flowing esp when your going over rocks etc. Alot of fun, and great way to improve your ridng. Would deffo go again! Wanted to do the descent from the old man of storr, it looks like a bloody good track. Unfortantly it was abit wet to ride it, so we had a hike around it.Yorkshire Man living in Somerset

Think you need to get you're priorities in order my friend....
I need to be out at least once a week or I tend to struggle up the first climb. Am out on Saturday night so I will probably do a short route round the river bank near me on Sunday, just to keep them legs going.0 -
went up to moors on wens with giggmaster found a superb downhill section that was a mile long and hit speeds of 30+ on way down, rest of ride was just as good, some kick arse uphills tho, between 20-25%,but all on road so wasnt that bad.......im busy laying my new floor on sunday,so looks like my next ride out will be start of next week sumtime........0
-
hey guys, will hopefully have my bike in a couple of weeks and wondering if any of you guys could post your routes that are close to hull on some sortof online map? I know this is cheeky but I would be really grateful as it would mean I can go out on my own and get some practise in on my new bike!0

me and giggsmaster normally just go on road round hull to keep fitness up....we sumtimes ride river hull from wawne back to kingswood for a bit of off road, for our proper kicks we go to moors/dales or peaks depending on what the weather is like.......i know some ppl meet at skidby mill for a ride on a sunday, but aint seen them posting on there link for a while........theres some off road routes round hull from what ive read, but with hull and area being so flat its hard to find sum decent off roading round here, hence why we go further away...........moors is hour and half/dalby a hour/peaks about 2 hours/dales about 2 and half hours in car.....so a lot on our doorstep if youre willing to drive?????0 -

depends on what part of hull you live in, I mainly ride up on worlds, starting from hessle foreshore to North Ferriby, then over the A63 round the back of melton on to the bridle path up on the wolds where you carry on to brantingham and such.
btw what bike you getting?0 -
I live in west hull, no car so woul be biking to wherever I am going and then bikiing some more!
I'm getting a Decathlon Rockrider 6.3, it seems to have gotten rave reviews and people I've talked to said its a good bike so long as I dont try to go crazy lol
I've seen some good routes on OS map website and think I'll give a go at some of those, and I seem to remember when I was younger picnicing near brantingham watching bikeres throw themselves along some chalk track, think I'll try to find that too.
Thanks, Matt0 -
when you get your bike let us know and I'll bomb upto brantingham with you if want0

Altern: Wednesday night would be ideal, if thats ok with you and your bro. If not, we can sort something out im sure!
Been to Stainburn Forest today, lots of fun and a couple of offs which keeps you on your toes. lol. Its about 90/120min drive from here, probably the same time from Hull. Great place to home in riding skills then doing huge distance rides, not to mention alot of fun on the Descent line course

Those 4ft drops arent too hard, just a case of not grabbing the brakes and lowering the seat down. Theres also a line around it, so it doesnt spoil the run if you dont want to ride it. Its the Northshore stuff and the route down to it, which is interesting to say the least! Came off a few times!

I'm ok for Wednesday, just depends on our kid. Probably either one of us will let you know tomorrow some time if thats ok with you Matt. We are off on the Moors again tomorrow, starting in Hawnby and going across to Black Hambleton again. Just bought the OS map for the area, so do our own route. Don't know if its too late if you or anyone wants to join us, we will be in Hawnby at the Village Hall car park around 0930-1000.0 -

It was a good ride yesterday. Nice weather, even got a nice little tan line....
The Moors were hard packed, very smooth. You could fly along at a good rate of knots in places. There was a bloody hard uphill around Arden Hall, I don't if you know it. It looked like it was 25% or more, well it definitely felt like it...
If you see this message today and still want to meet up in pub for a beer. What time do you reckon you could get there for? I need leave pub at about 1830 to get home for something.0 -

No worries. Am maybe thinking of doing a ride on Saturday myself, but I don't know where yet. Stainburn is probably not my kind of ride though, so if you decide to go elsewhere let me know.0 -
We will be going to Dalby on Sunday and will have space for 1 - 2 people if interested.
I have a really big box trailer now, that will house quite a few bikes - possibly 5, if the handlebars can be twisted......
Let me know, guys.0
