Yeti, there all off to near Ludlow Sunday, Riding Wyre dunno on the time yet but feel free to tag along.

Moggy, when the ground is dry we are SERIOUSLY over torched, just did a 4hour ride, TR-C2 on Medium and P7 on Medium on the bars for most of it, barely had to use my MC-E on my head just for the fast descents, haven't had to change 1 battery :)

The forest has got some suprise muddy sections, which at speed are kinda scarey, nearly came a cropper on 1 descent.

Yeah cool only one problem though i dont have a car yet and that sucks :( , had a look on google looks nice the Wyre forest and take it theres some DH decents there too.
Whats Malverns like and i read on DH forum on here by Barracuda Bob i think about Lickey hills, that there is short DH run there.
Nice and hilly around these parts, where i was from its mostly flat ,unless travel to the nice place to ride.
I don't have a bike addiction problem.....bikes seems to have a problem with me.....it just can't seem to stay on.

I'm still out this weekend by the looks of it, my bike could get sorted out today (Saturday), which would mean I will be out on the bike Sunday....

Went for a walk in the Wyre yesterday, fairly dry, still some damp/muddy patchs though.

    Getting withdrawal symptons now... ;-)

    Yeti,

you dont want to ride roads, but sadly you'll have to, to get anywhere for the time being, pop along the A491 and you have clent hills. Pretty good for a short blast.

    Dyl,

Were you over the wyre last night then, cos me and gee were over 7:30 till 10pm.

Not that bad, did the far right runs, inc jungle and some bits were sadly very muddy, as were the camber and caravan in bits, but overall best so fat this year.

I was on med on the battery pack most of last night with L1 and MCE on med, enough for all but the worst bits.

Second MCE £20, rip my arm off before someone else does.

    All,

Due to the slow uptake on the mortimer idea and the chance of mounty's bike not being ready and reaper being tied up this weekend, im gonna leave it and go ride cannock (dh), tempted to go next weekend, just hope my Mum doesn't moan about it!

hey guys sorry to jump onto your threads, i just moved down here, Bromsgrove and dont really know area to ride apart from Malverns and Lickey Hills (not been there yet whats it like ??) any other trails i can ride dont really want to go on roads etc, any help advice be great help or maybe hook up some time if poss.

Lickeys is alright, but some of the good bits are walker only, so not ideal when its busy  OK for a short ride though

Wyre was good, only been out once and lived here 4yrs  , but will be out with these guys again hopefully 8)

Cannock is th obvious choice, great riding, will kepp ya posted next time i am heading up there in daylight, but usually thurs nights if you have lights?

Yeah cool if near by or heading some where gimme bell be glad go some where fun for change.
At mo im just riding roads / bridle paths that i can find ( only found 1 short one but goes down hill) gets bit dull. In york same stuff but in city at least had steps to ride :) but same need to travel for any thing good to ride

Moggy, I didn't leave my house till @10pm rode from here - Stourport over heightington way to the normal pub, did the secret garden down the old railway track, up there right down the steep section over the small bridge, right - right - left up the rocky track then that nice bit there + the Caravan then home, Loads of miles :) Going to keep my setup as is, prefer the P7 colour to the MC-E, works too well, although 3 torches on the front would be nice :)

Never been impressed with the Long Mynd, the ground makes it hard work even when dry and the only good descent is from the glider club I've found as yet.

Yeti, can you get a train to Kiddy cause I can pick you up from the station, can't today( sunday ) though mate with me.

yeti- you will struggle on a sunday with the trains as its a limited service. i think the quickest line to kidderminster from bromsgrove is if you go to droitwich spa and change there but on a sunday its not until about 13:00 although there may be an earlier one if you head to birmingham and back out again but you are looking at around 90+mins on trains that way. i went to ride cannock on the train just before christmas on a weekday and it took around 2 hours or so on the trains but it was a really wet day and i froze on the way back. still good though.

Ah yeah Sundays train time can be a bit less than during week , well at mo i can ride any day as im free for awhile alos i could check train time etc on web.
Had a ride to lickey hills Today was ok lot people there but nice small place with couple very steep decending wooded steps / trail going down to the roads that was bit of fun and bit technical but nothing cant handle, only takes me 20mins quick ride from Bromsgrove but im quicker on way back as its mostly down hill from Barnt Green :)

Capt, no idea on the trains never use them.

I can pick you up and ride Clent it's not that far away 1 of the days if needs be.

Conditions are interesting at the Wyre, strange how there are still so many fresh looking leaves on the ground to, they stayed frozen all winter and well preserved :(

Its Ribbesford just outside bewdley! Its a mellow DH track ,with a few nice features, jumps etc, about 60-100 seconds down depending on ability and 15 min max push back up, i'll be riding up for half the runs tonight!

Already supplying lights for one mate, so cant really help you there! You could borrow that light for a bit though if needs be. I did have another one but sold the mount last week. Could use bits of innertube!

I have a old full face you could have super cheap if you really need one!

1/2 way between bromsgrove and Stourbridge I guess.

Yeah I can do in the day pending on work commitments, Normally don't work Mondays and Fridays ever so there better for me :)

Not riding tonight, chests creaking like I'm a 80year old smoker, just a short ride tommorow then a proper long ride back to normal all being well for Sunday!!
