Does the new landlord ( future bankrupt sucker ) let us use the Car Park then ??

Looks like two scumbag kids running it for the administrators to me! Cash only, no warm food! A lot of the decoration that made it homely inside has gone! Its just not the same!

I'll be parking elsewhere for a bit!

Okay, move to riding from the pub in Button Oak then, sounds dodgy.

If time permits yes, its a nice warm up.

Prefer doing that from Clent it's all down and fast to get back.

Down Turv, you'd be mad to try and get up it! Overtook 2 guys walking, shouted at them to let me past and was initially very proud of myself, until they met us at the bottom and one of them had blood everywhere having face planted just before I reached them...felt a little guilty then!
My bike was fantastic on it though, just floated over it. Orange rule!!! :P

IMHO you'd have to be mad to go down it to :)

Floated hey, you've got 1 of those new hover bikes then, that might make it do able.
  • You're funny - Not

I did actually think of you on that rigid bike when I got to the bottom ha ha!

parked on duke car park with a blue porsche there too?

Yep that's the guy. Knows my other half well, ride with him occasionally. He's the only one of the group I can keep up with!

ah, your other half just bought a ghost? been cycling a year or so?
  • Nope, my OH been riding about 20 years and has a Five! He doesn't ride the Wyre so you won't know him. He knows Andy as a business associate and the mtb'ing was just a coincidence

If anyone wants to do a none elitist ride where having fun is permissible and not totally killing youselves let me know.

I get to race around all day for work, racing around kinda ruins the point of mtbing to me.

Miss G did 40miles Saturday just bimbling around on the rigid it's fine with FAT tyres fitted to it :)

Rigid + Broken Thumb isn't the best of ideas though. :(

Still workin on bike and have to ditch an oncall, but am gonna try, lol. Did u get out this weekend?

Are you still coming out Jen? I think Muddy wants to join us....which means Turvey your not invited sorry!...i don't know what you want to do....Chris looks like he's doing his normal racing ride....but i think me and Muddy will be going for more of a mincey pace although knowing Muddy there will be no stopping!!

Jen always out...i'm a biking whore...lol...did Cannock and the Wyre at the weekend and Pitcheroak last night...had an epic fall...when down that big bomb hole but didn't quite make it up the other side...ladies never trust a man that says he will catch you...he will run like buggery once he see you crashing towards him!
Biking whore of Wyre....rides with anyone!

LOL, Sassy atleast someone can speak there mind around here LOL No worries!!
  • Doubt I'll be out at all this week sorry. Other stuff to do.
But I really don't want to feel I have to chose each week who to ride with I just can't be doing with it! What's going on and why can't we just get it sorted as I can see this thread falling apart and everyone getting into little cliquey groups and it's just not worth it guys, we all like riding in the Wyre so let's just get on with it!

Lecture over  and slightly off topic....I've been offered a job in Droitwich and am looking at commuting there, route avoiding motorways is just under 20miles which is a distance I can easily do but it takes me over towards Longbridge, over the Lickeys and round the back of Bromsgrove then into Droitwich via the Kiddi Road. I'll do a recce in the car anyway but was wondering if this sounds a mad idea??? It would only be 2 or maybe 3 days per week...
    Any comments?? :D
  • I have put this in the commuting thread btw I just thought I'd ask you lot as you are local and will have an idea what I'm on about!

I cant be arsed with all the forum/riding nonsense, hence why I dont use the forum anymore.... I just want to ride my bike!

Anyway..............is that a 20 mile round trip for you Debs ? Sorry cant remember where you live.
  • No, each way. We're in Hall Green. As it'll be part time and it's only just over minimum wage (!) I really need to keep costs down but am undecided if this is practical. I will do a test ride one weekend but also need to consider getting clean when there (no showers) and carrying clothing that will undoubtedly end up a creased mess!
Unfortunately none of the local jobs I have applied for seem to want me :(

Hi all - will be out on Wednesday evening but can't promise a fast pace as I'm feeling a tad weary, I shan't hold you up though.

Monsterziggy - hope you can make it as we all miss you

Missgroover and Mounty - agree with what everyone is saying about the forum and just getting on with riding.

Turvey - It's not just me who feels the way I do so I believe it would be a good idea if we had a chat face to face rather than on here. Whether you come out on Wednesday is up to you, offend me on here again and you'll not see me for dust.

So see you all tomorrow :D

Chris is fine with a mincey/moderate pace...

So will be meeting him and the other at 7.30 at the Duke...

Anybody else that fancys coming please just turn up!

I think people just need to be clearer on what kind of ride fast/slow/technical etc and if you can't stand riding with someone just say instead of talking in riddles! :P
Biking whore of Wyre....rides with anyone!

I dont understand the whole thing of...... 'slow/fast/mincey/ long ride etc'. If people want to ride fast, then let them, if they want a mincey pace, then let them, who cares, just ride !!

Just turn up and bloody ride your bike !!! Its not rocket science !! The whole pace/speed thing is very off putting for a lot of people, especially with newbies!

Turn up (preferably on time), ride your bike, go home..........easy! We all know each other enough and what we are all capable of doing in terms of distance, fitness and ability etc

AND we are all slower and faster than someone else in the group....who cares, just ride !!!

A regular Weds ride of 7.30, just turn up and ride, it doesnt matter who can or cant make it....just get out and ride !!!

PS. Having a sh*t day at work ,sorry !!

PPS. Just in case the message didnt get across..........JUST GET OUT AND RIDE !!!
  • Mounty you are my hero and I love you!!! :P :P :P

Hi Miis G, I work in Droitwich & live in Acocks Green, passing through Hall Green each day so I don't mind picking you up on the way as I go that way anyway.

I'm not sure how long I will be doing this commute for as I may be moving but still waiting to see what happens with my house. But in the mean time I can show you some of the alternative routes to the motorway.

Did consider riding to work myself, but don't have decent showers at work to get cleaned up.
