But I really don't want to feel I have to chose each week who to ride with I just can't be doing with it! What's going on and why can't we just get it sorted as I can see this thread falling apart and everyone getting into little cliquey groups and it's just not worth it guys, we all like riding in the Wyre so let's just get on with it!
Lecture over and slightly off topic....I've been offered a job in Droitwich and am looking at commuting there, route avoiding motorways is just under 20miles which is a distance I can easily do but it takes me over towards Longbridge, over the Lickeys and round the back of Bromsgrove then into Droitwich via the Kiddi Road. I'll do a recce in the car anyway but was wondering if this sounds a mad idea??? It would only be 2 or maybe 3 days per week...
Any comments??
Hi Miis G, I work in Droitwich & live in Acocks Green, passing through Hall Green each day so I don't mind picking you up on the way as I go that way anyway.
I'm not sure how long I will be doing this commute for as I may be moving but still waiting to see what happens with my house. But in the mean time I can show you some of the alternative routes to the motorway.
Did consider riding to work myself, but don't have decent showers at work to get cleaned up.0 -
That's very good of you Chez, I may take you up on that See how things go in my first week or so - I didn't see showers either! :?0

yes....0 -
Good of you Mounty - may take you up
I can't do 18th - 19th Sept, other plans0 -
The shropshire routes are the existing routes, there's no new tracks, the centre takes your ability and uses a fancy gps programme to plot a route to suit you, not sure on the cost!
Sounds like a good idea! Means you dont have to try a piece a route together by yourself somewhere that your not particularly familiar with!
Its nice that everyone is talking it seems to of gone a bit quiet people off riding and only texting people they want to come! I have caught wind of many rides that havent been posted on here or the forum! Lets keep the Wednesday rides regular, and at a decent pace. as time is always against us! (some of us have to be up early)
Im up a for a Ride on Saturday, i'll be riding from Kiddy over to Wyre, doing a few hours then riding back, as im going to Wales on sunday!0 -

Ha - small world!
I don't recall seeing you the other week, mind you I was at the back with Nicki!
Moggy - I know the mynd fairly well as we go there regularly, will be there this weekend actually so if you all trust me to lead you....no pressure but bring a sense of direction and maybe a map!0 -
I know there are no new routes, bike shop looks really nice though, just thought it might make a change from the Wyre and hopefully get most of the group together for a few hilly miles! :-)
Lead away miss groover.....another girl called Julie who rides with us on the odd occasion knows the area well too, she lives there...will drop her a text.
I can ride Sunday morning, but it will be the Wyre and an earlier start for me as I have plans for lunch time, so it would probably be a 9am start if anyone is up for it.0 -
I may be on for Sunday, got to go see my dad so can do that on the way back (Redditch). Happy to start 9ish and be done for 11 or so0
-
Would be up for a ride on the Long Mynd but not free until October. Fix away without me and if I can make it, I will do. Can't ride this Sunday either.0
-
How about Sunday 5th or 12th September for a Long Mynd ride ?
(I could do Saturday 4th & 11th Sept if its any easier for people).0 -
Hoping this is me back for a bit, I've just put the bike & both wheels!!!!! in the back of the car for tomorrow, work pending I will be there between 7 & half past, will be good to catch up with everyone and meet the new faces.

Working tonight, but plan to be out tomorrow over the Wyre or Clent. Anyone fancy joining me for a medium placed slow sprint? Plenty of gnarly air and jey core lite xc?Crashing hard since 94...0
-
Re Mynd - let me see what happens with new job first before committing but one of the above mentioned 4 days should be ok....have told them I am not prepared to work all weekend every weekend! (I know I should be grateful I got a job so quickly but I refuse to end up with no social life because of it!)
Mick - possibly tomorrow, not sure yet. So busy this week, need to fix my hardtail before I can use it on Sat as well as about 10 million other jobs. Feeling sorry for me yet??0 -
Maybe up for tomorrow Mick...will let you know in the morning!
Mounty has asked me to send an invite out via Facebook about the Long
Mynd...so if it ok, with you all will put Saturday 11th Aug at 10.30?
Muddy will also be up for going in October as well...let me know a date!
Mounty can you let me know a meeting point as well?Biking whore of Wyre....rides with anyone!0 -

I suggested Sat 11th or Sunday 12th Sept, not August. :-)
Also, I think Sunday's are the easiest for most people.0 -
Sorry SeptBiking whore of Wyre....rides with anyone!0

Easiest meet point is the Co-Op in Church Stretton, this is found by turning right at the traffic lights off the main road (A49, signed C Stret) and then left opposite Barclays Bank as yougo up the hill. It is pay and display, £3 ish for the full day and there are loos there. Added bonus is I know the start of our route from there!
Get your climbing legs on guys - you'll need them!0 -
The last time we rode the Long Mynd, we had strong winds blowing on the climbs which made it feel like someone was pulling us back on the bikes......mmmmmmmmmm......lots of climbs! ;-)
Meeting place as above, its easy to find even for you Sassy ;-)0 -
Doubtful I can do the sunday...day before my holiday.... Have a good time anywayBiking whore of Wyre....rides with anyone!0
-
Not riding tonight, feeling very weary - will come and say hello though
Mick - have been carrying the Alveley map around for the last couple of months! Are you doing Suckley on Sunday?
Sassy - the only weekend I'm free in October is 2nd or 3rd! How about going a little further up the road and going to Eastridge instead of the Long Mynd? There is a xc route there and some gnarly trails too0 -
I will be riding in the Wyre this Sunday, 22nd.
It will be a 9am start, finishing around 11.30 - 12pm0 -
Anyone fancy do a Wyre Sunday 10.30?
if not i may join the ride with Mounty
also am doing Clent tonight 7pmBiking whore of Wyre....rides with anyone!0
