And I have just bought a Lappy 314, should be picking it up early next week! :-)

Fair enough - you gotta be happy with your steed. Never tried a lapierre myself - demo'd a Juliana and then the 5 and was smitten :)

Roger and anyone else - next Tues for a speedy ride looking good....

It'll be slow going up, getting out of breath hurts still.

I'll be around at the wyre Sunday evening/ night for a blast around.

Prob doing Clent on Monday night, and will see if the fast pace of Tuesday night is all it's cracked up to be.

Also thanks to Sassy for the guided ride of Pitcheroak on Thursday.
    Crashing hard since 94...

Hey Sarah hows you and Tweed?

We have mentioned it a few times but we will have to get in the Dales and ride there as we are missing out on great rides in superb area's. We all should get our heads togather and sort a Sunday ride out I mean if you and Neil can get down here in say 1.5 hours then whats a matter with us doing the same to you.
Thanks also for the comments I am now felling looking and geting better well not so sure about the looking difficult to polish a turd eh(lol) Get it in before somone else does

    See you soon
    Tony
  • Mounty... Bike going good ta, not yet been back on the full suss so it'll be like a dream when I do! When does your new machine turn up? Tweed neil has started looking after all these years of keeping it real!!

Tone, very glad you are on the mend, I'll retain any harsh banter re your appearance for when you are totally chipper.... Lol!
As we are not doing the wyre tomorrow me and the tweed are doing edale (Jacobs ladder and the like) never done it before which is disgraceful as it's on the doorstep. Can't remember if you said you'd ridden there before? AnywAys I'll report back. I'm sure mounty, Sas, dyl etc wil be on for that. We could still camp the night before too? Not it my garden though!! :D

I'd be up for riding the peaks. Know the area round Hope/Castelton fairly well and have done bits round edale. don't get to go up there very often now :(

Dates could be good Dyl will be in touch

Sarah yes Edale's fab, park at the where the walkers park which is just off main road going into Edale its a bit of a dusty layby and road continues to nowhere from memory do not be tempted to park anywhere near or outside the cafe in Edale as thats where my car was keyed

Should be good and very glad to hear Neils looseng the steel well relegated to the bike museum in the garage anyway, good man

Enjoy your day speak to you soon :)

Can't remember what the car park is called, thats what me + mates always use, going towards the Jacobs, Left near the bottom of the MamTor Road.

Neil getting a new bike is bad news for us, he out rides us down stuff as it was.

My car was keyed last year in Hope, when I was parked on the side of the Edale Road funnily enough. Couldn't believe it and was not a happy bunny :x I mean you expect it in Brum....

Not one for pointing the finger but I think its certain walkers because whilst we were there they just slamed shut gates in front of us and even when pushed to say hello they still ignored us never before have I noticed such childish behavior amongst grown adults out on the hills (i have but usually involves a pub and beer).
I think anything ending in "dale" beware

Its not walkers that are the issue, there average joe's who don't care if you ride a bike, it's Ramblers they hate us, lets get this clear.

I've had dealings with as a MTBer and a Hill Walker a few times, there a weird species and tighter than a ducks ass, Phill banned them from the pub as they'd bring there own food and flasks and not spending 1 penny.
  • Well... We had a lovely walk up jacob's ladder today! Very tough going, probably pushed the bike as much as I rode it and a gale force wind to add to the pleasure... Can't say we will be doing that particular route again... Lol!

As previously said, peaks have a lot of walking involved which ruins them, you've got to ride down the sucker for the real fun.

    I dunno if it's 1 of the routes we are doing 7th / 8th.

I've asked mate just to be polite if it's okay for overs to join in, anyone interested ?? if so do you need a camping spot ??
