Sure was great fun - I was glad those trees were there to assist during spd related moments...keen to arrange another but will post when free as a bit busy the next couple of weeks

Andy and I are meeting up at the visitor centre @ 8am on Saturday morning if anyone is interested.

Turvey i agree, the forest isnt really rideable at the mo, its so slippy, clent is was much better on tuesday than the wyre last night. I thought bramble alley and secret garden were bad but the other side trails we a nightmare. Especially with Dry weather tyres on. i though the muds were staying away till next year, i think not!

Will be going away next week so no thursday night ride, but back on , on the 8th April.

Hi Andy - no worries about Wednesday. Shame we missed you. I can't ride this weekend and not sure when I'm back out cos my bike is in hospital being operated on Hopefully will have it back in time for Friday's ride :P

Glad I'm not alone and yesterdays ride went wrong then, Clent was pretty slippy to but still pretty fast.

I was going down on Thursday 8th April until Monday, but now it looks like I will be going down on Saturday 10th, returning anytime on Monday. My sister keeps changing her mind, women ! ;-)

Will join you on Thursday if it's a day ride and I have my bike back from the LBS. I'm still planning on doing Hopton and Bucknell (bring a lunch with you) on Friday - there's an option to do quite a long route if all goes well. Will keep you posted on when I get my bike back etc.

I am up for riding Thursday this week, I'm easy day or night just let me know which.

If anyone's interested we are doing a bit of road riding (13mph + average)

Monday night start Heightington
Tuesday night start Stourport or Great Witley

25 to 30 miles ish

The plan for Friday is to do the family fun route (1 mile of singletrack fun) for a warm up, a quick loop round Hopton to see if there is any new xc trails and then over to Bucknell and back to Hopton. This will be around 22 km (13 miles), with 892m ascent.

If time/legs/energy permits, when we get to the top of Bucknell wood there is a bridleway which heads out towards Knighton. To add this loop on will put on 13.4km (8 miles) and another 202m ascent.

I suggested bringing a lunch because a) it could be a long ride and b) there is some hill climbing to be done and we don't want to go hungry! and c) we might find some other trails we can play on which may delay us.

I haven't ridden this before but know the area roughly, I'll have a map with me so a lot depends on time on whether we do the longer route or not. Just covering all options.

Thanks Muddypuddle unfortuneately i can't come, I'm off for the weekend to Herefordshire Friday morning popping up to Malvern Sunday for a guided tour.

I will sort my dates out where i'm off to as i go to the breacons, the peaks, Symmonds yat, and up by CYB a couple of times a year each everyone we camp (caravan) .

17th 18th April Free
30th - 2nd April/May Bala
16th 17th May Free
28th May -4th June Symmonds Yat
4th - 6th June Warwick
19th - 20th June Road riding Worcester
27th June Doing my first Triathlon

Then hit & miss until September due to holidays

So if you want to do rides in Wales please can you sort out to fit in with me (Tar)
I have a vehicle that can take 5 bikes and people.

I'm always up for camping (well caravan)

Andy - I'm booked up myself a lot this year too. I'm not free for any of those dates you have listed but at the moment I have 3 weekends in July which are empty!

Shall we pencil in a date for a group ride in July for Rhayader and I can fix up the details later on?

The dates I'm free are: 3rd/4th,10/11th and 17th July.

Wouldn't mind a tour of Brecons (not the Gap) or the Peaks sometime though.

MP, tempted your rides are atleast Epics which I like, rather than short races no idea what I'm doing yet on the weekend though.

Who's Steve who sent me a text earlier regards riding on Thursday's doesn't ring a bell so likely only know your screen id ??
