Someone pointed out I will be such a Union Jackass while wearing them!
Now please tell me/us you wont be wearing underwear underneath those will you
good purchase BTW
Well the dummy in the pic is clearly wearing boxers
fossyant - you'd buy them if your only other alternative costed upwards of £50
£15, bargain! Will be wearing them under baggies anyway0 -
For The Pig:
- New freewheel. Yep, it takes a freewheel rather than a cassette. Opted for a plated Sunrace 13-24 mostly because all the Shimano options came with a only a 14 minimum smallest sprocket. Surprisingly ddifficult to find anything half decent in the freewheel department.
- 68-110mm UN26 Square Taper BB - only £8 from CRC - will be more than adequate for The Pig
- Shimano Deore Brake cable (to replace the corroded and sticking rear).
I also added 2x Conti Cross tubes to the order - one of the "Tour" tubes I had failed at the valve stem, figure I may as well replace both with the lighter race version. That said, I am beginning to feel doubtful if i will be able to race this weekend.David

My MKS Sylvan track pedals arrived. As someone pointed out, they're not well sealed, but I'd like to be able to ride in the wet over the winter. Is there any way, with grease say, that I can apply a more or less effective "seal" to keep them going as long as possible? And when they do need servicing, will it be easy to do so myself?0

What speed is the drivetrain? I have a spare 7-speed freewheel that I mistakenly bought before realising that my MTB computer (the "iron horse" - no dissimilar to the pig by the look of it) has a 7-speed cassette - very odd, didn't even realise they existed. I think its 11-28.0 -

If they were an excellent bargain, yes, I think so. Properly washed there should be no difference really.0 -

new bar grips today so that I could finally fit my bar ends, still a few adjustments to make in order to make sure the end caps fit properly (after having to cut them off the grips to get the ends on) and stay put.
Also some of that fancy hi viz black tape...photos to followOfficers don't run, it's undignified and panics the men0 -
NGale wrote:(after having to cut them off the grips to get the ends on)
If you can slide the grips onto the bars more there is no need for any cutting tools, just a hammer. Hit the end of the bars where the grips are and the holes will cut themselves and perfectly round.I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0 -

ahhh all done now. I did try the hammer thing, but wouldn't work so the craft knife came in useful
