I am approx 38.5 inch chest* and XL fits me perfectly.

    * I don't have a tape measure so I just measured myself using an old inner tube and a ruler :)

Jesus. Cycling gear is so small. On what planet is 38.5" XL?!
Not climber, not sprinter, not rouleur

XL in 'normal' cycle gear is often 44"-46".

Pro fit performance roadie gear is often a lot smaller, for some strange reason

Slightly sidetracking, as I'm wont to do... Does anyone else reckon clothes are getting larger for a given size? i.e. a new Medium is bigger than an old Medium?

It's European sizes that are weird. I have a couple of German-made jerseys that are allegedly large. 38" chest. Sorry, that's medium.....

    That's using your initiative.

On the subject of silly euro sizes there were some 'pro fit' euskaltel jerseys on prendas a couple of weeks ago M=26-28" chest XXXL=34-36" What adult has a 26" chest? Where would the lungs go?

Air flow meter for my car.

I mean, my car is really a bike accessory. I wouldn't need it if it wasn't to go biking places.

After being delighted with my better-than-half-price Giordana Body Clone jacket, I found a better-than-half-price Body Clone jersey on eBay and bought that. NB there is one still available :)

Does it need to be when someone buys something here every 5 minutes? ;)
  • I just bought an Ionos in the Livestrong colourway. Fits so much better than my Atmos, the black matches my bike, the yellow for viz (yeah, yeah) and I feel good about the charity donation.
I can justify almost any purchase as being 'essential', and 'worthy'.

Aldi compression underwear? Or did you just buy 2 sizes down?

Just bought a new lid from Catlike

    catlike-whisper-plus-ind.jpg

Awesome lid, the ventilation is so much more than my Met. Going to have to wear a cap under it if the temperature drops

Does free stuff count in this thread?

I managed to shear my right crank arm through a few weeks back so I took it back to the shop for a warranty replacement (was less than a year old) and even though I only gave them back the one crank arm they've sent me an entire replacement chainset, with all three chainwheels.

Only difference is that the new cranks are 175mm whereas the ones currently on the bike are 172.5mm but I'd actually been thinking about maybe going to 175mm anyway as I don't tend to lean much in corners and on the rare occasions that I do I'll usually stop pedalling and rotate the inner side so it's pedal upwards.

Think of this to replace the Ionos I have so you'd recommend it?

Got one of those last week. Didn't realise there is no manual setting. i.e. it records actual cycling time rather than elapsed time. It stops the clock when wheels not turning. Been used to recording actual journey time, more realistic when measuring against other forms of transport. Grrrrr. Still stuck with it now.

I had a Stradivarius, and the difference is like comparing a warm beer to a cold beer, it really is so cool and comfortable with the banded retention system. The only slight downside is the straps are quite long, I will get it set up and shorten them with a heat knife once I get it 100%

Cheers for the mini-review. Not too bothered about that as I am not using it for commuting.

Going to get a Vectra for that! :)

Ditto. Need a new pair to ride to work in. My Lidl £3 specials are getting marked where I wear them at work so they will stay at work now. Gone for the cheapskate post option so hopefully tuesday I shall have a new pair of sunnies :D
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.
