    A pair of Ksyrium Elites.

I expect them to make me at least 10% faster! ;)

Pair of these, my old shoes were starting to get a bit weary.

Oddly since I have been using them, I have had slight pain in my right knee, guess it could just be the newness, and I need to get used to them.

Yes :) Is approval restricted to just LiT?

Indeed not by any means. But she is rather fond of hers ;) Seller phoned this morning, will meet him Sunday morning to do the deal.

Lovely! I've been avoiding this thread to avoid temptation during my unemployment, so missed this...

    Very nice indeed.

I am getting withdrawal symptoms from not having a box with "Wiggle" on it delivered to my desk for some weeks, so I just ordered an incredibly boring 2 x Nuun, 1 x titanium bottle cage (for the fixie) and 1 x Koolstop salmon pads. Carry on.

Also, completely off topic - Smile, who I bank with, keep sending me emails offering me a case of wine if I refer someone for a current account. That person also gets a case of wine. Anyone looking to change accounts? PM me if so! (I've been very happy with Smile's interface and service in the 6 years I've been with them, fwiw)

Hmm, but there's some rattle from the cassette.
Quick tour of bike shops this lunchtime to hunt for a thin spacer for the freehub.

    What size cassette you running?

My Elites I got last week from Merlin Cycles came with the 10 speed spacer.

It's a 9 speed cassette, which is what's weird with it.

That is 9 speed shouldn't require a spacer. Shifiting all ok?

Yeah, although I fiddled it last night.

Reading this leads me to believe I need one of these.

I'm running the 10 speed cassette with just the mavic spacer not both the mavic and shimano with no problems.

    Will look look into this.

That's the one I have between the inside of the hub and the 25/biggest sprocket.

    Spacer acquired.

Have to say, I wasn't that impressed by the customer service in Condor - I'll be sticking to CycleSurgery in future.

If I ran a retail establishment I'd have a zero tolerance policy for any staff who were surly, rude or lazy. I know customers can be complete ****s but most aren't, and there's nothing worse for customer loyalty than treating them badly.

I wouldn't say I was treated badly as such, I mean, I did get the part I was after with a fairly vague description.
But they do seem to have a general policy of avoiding eye contact at all costs, other bike shops seem friendlier and more willing to help.

Well, maybe they get one warning rather than zero tolerance :)

Cassette seems much happier, at least in my kitchen. :)

Does anyone have these? If so, are they any good (aside from the fact that I have serious doubts over whether I pull off that much white...)?

Monday late afternoon, intended to pop into my local, very friendly LBS (hi Steve/Al!) in Balham to ask about changing the stem on my bike. Did that but also came out with metal pedals which I didn't need but got because I wanted to buy bike-related stuff

Just as well I'm used to beans on toast, or bikkies and a hot drink. Might have to visit friends/rellys for dinner a few evenings this month

Ordered meself a compact chainset for tackling the hills around Brecon.

Nabbed one of Wiggle's last Ultegra 6650s for £155. Seemed a good deal considering the £200+ price of the new 6750, and the cheapest I could find a 105 compact was ~£130.
