Looks like a manufacturing fault that!

I'm no expert, but that looks like a dud one!

  • If they try to claim six months wear is reasonable to leave it looking like that, then they obviously make really bad products. I would be amazed if they tried it, as they don't.

    @ITB

Jaysus man the PF hates you, she even punctures your bottom bracket.
“New York has the haircuts, London has the trousers, but Belfast has the reason!
  • Just ordered one of these: md80-held-small.jpg from http://www.dogcamsport.co.uk/md80s-peanut-sports-camera.htm Looks like it should be small enough to fit to the bike though I suspect that will have too much vibration so will probably end up on my helmet. It is seriously small!

Watch out Kensington RLJ's, I will be watching you!

Seriously though, in a month's commuting I've seen enough cr@p driving that I want to have it on film when I get hit.

Helmet is the best place, you can then direct the cam at all the vehicles (and registration plates) as they crash all around you . :)

What's the general consensus on this FSA bottom bracket, i've had it for less than six months then about a month or so ago it developed play round the axle, today I finally removed it for a closer inspection and was very surprised to see that the casing is actually cracked in several places all the way through
    ....
Normal wear and tear or manufacturing fault?
What is that hole for? Does it possibly coincide with the screw holding on your BB cable guide?

Looks like an odd failure to me, but not certain it is a factory fault.

Nope that hole is where the cracks crossed and that bit fell out!

Is that the same as this one on sale at Amazon, but under a different brand name? The side view pictures look very similar.

I was looking at that (with the sports pack), but wasn't convinced that it would show up number plates effectively from a helmet mount, so will be interested in some example shots from you. The only examples I could find on YouTube were either DH mountain biking, or on car bumpers/dashes. I would also be interested in how rain-resistant it is.

If I had one I'd have to edit out the number of 'shoulder checks' I do when I pass someone worth a second look before showing my wife the footage

Should arrive tomorrow so I should have some footage to post by the end of the week.

Pair of Fulcrum Racing 5 Evos. Velocity reckoned my rear wheel was toast after the argument with the cattle grid, so I'm taking the opportunity to upgrade the wheelset (a bit).

Charge Spoon saddle and some Genesis cromo rigid forks both for my MTB. Bought them from forum members :)

Just trying to figure out how to get them home (along with other stuff) in my tiny rucksack.

Are they on offer now the team is defunct? Oh no hang on that means you can wear it without being attacked by the fashion police, as you were. I like the barloworld kit, good slightly obscure choice :D

A couple of 700x25 innertubes for the Continental Gatorskins I've just bought.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

It's cheap .... and not black like most of my other gear , thought I'd add a bit more colour to the autumn commute. :P

You better have your gameface on, team kit on the commute is like painting a target on your back.

Fortunately, there are very few 'roadie's' on my commute run (I don't see any at 5:30am), though I do see a fair few club riders at the weekends  , anyhoo, moving on

My final purchase for the next 6 months (I've said that before), I can justify the outlay due to the fact I have not re-newed my car insurance/tax this year .... I'm going car-less which should save me a few thousand in total costs. :)

No doubt I will now be able to film the backs of all those 'roadies' that decide to take the p iss because of my new team kit

If you saw some of the nutters on my commute you would soon justify the cost.

I bought a cheaper camera + recorder combo last year but all the wires and connections made using the thing a real hassle, with a self contained unit like the POV, I will use it all the time + it's good enough for other video production too.

It also just dropped in price ...... which is nice :)

A slightly strange Cannondale R800, from the mid 90s, I think.
    650c wheels, 105 8-speed throughout.

Looks too small for me, doesn't feel horrible though - I'm going to see if I can find a longer stem for it to see if it makes me happier.

Price it went for, it was worth it for the groupset alone, though.
