Bought: One pair of vernier calipers for hub and rim (ERD) measuring purposes.

Soon to be bought: 40 DT Comp spokes of a yet-to-be-determined-via-the-use-of-above-calipers size.

Had one of these bad boys for a while now and I love it - only problem is that it is susceptible to chafing where pack straps / buckles attach and can click quite easily.

    Enjoy

these ..... from Stif performance ,

    6396_gy_m.jpg

They come with a liner, they also got a good review in cycling + , and are a decent price.

My first order from this company, so lets see how long they take to arrive

Very quick question - would 10-spd SRAM powerlink connectors fit on my Focus chain (not sure what the chain is but it's a 10spd Shimano cassette and FSA chainring)? And what would I need to get for the fixie chain, which is a lot more heavy duty?

Depends if it's 3/32 or 1/8. You could just use a chain breaker to join the ends.

I just got one of these, it looks like carbon, weighs like carbon but bends like alloy {as it is} so works properly and isn`t a stupid price.

I believe so, I think I have a powerlink on my Focus' Shimano chain.

Why do you want a powerlink for the fixie? I use KMC which have a powerlink kinda thing, not sure you are supposed to reuse it but I have with no probs.

It's not that I specifically want a powerlink for the fixie, I just want to be able to fix the chain if it breaks! Am I being dense?

Buy a KMC 1/8 chain - it won't break! Anyway they're so cheap if it does you're better off replacing it.

Actually, its a giant saddlebag, which also provides shelter in emergencies.

EDIT: It isn't by the way. Its a courier bag. The best, toughest, meanest, coolest courier bag money can buy. The only thing cooler would be an actual courier.

If it breaks you're gonna have to do some work with a chain breaker anyway to put some extra links in so you won't be saving much time/effort.

Use a chain tool. Never once used a powerlink in my life and I've fitted and fixed tons of chains.

    Altura gel mitts

The 2009 ones at full price from Evans, because I didn't have time to wait for the post (I'd lost one of my old pair, think it's run off with a sock...)

It's just a hill. Get over it.

Its a Timbuk2. There's a guy on ebay sells them, and one other place I could find in the UK. I bought my old one when I was in Canada - they were everywhere over there. Only this week did I find that they are like gold dust here.

    What size do you have?

I need to get laptop, shoes, shirt, towel in with a little space for odds and sods.

On the quest to stay cool and not finding any Bicycle jerseys without sleeves and any sleeveless base layers with pockets, I turned to triathlon!

    pi-1839-n-ps-med.jpg

Very snug - it's a bit of a battle to get in, but the fit is very nice. I suspect it'll take away sweat etc very well.

There's one pocket on the back, not too big but better than nothing.

Should do nicely for the weekends cycling :-)

I got the black one, which actually is black unlike in the crappy picture which shows it being grey and slightly lighter grey.

I have a medium. I can get shoes and a few shirts in there okay, with keys, wallet, phone, etc. But not a laptop on top of that.

I would guess you'd need a large, unless you have a microscopic laptop and tiny feet.

    specialized-rockhopper-pro-disc-2009-mountain-bike.jpg

Specialized RockHopper Pro Disc 2009. Shame about the colour, but it fits under the £1000 limit on my employer's cycle-to-work scheme. I also bought a Blackburn MTN-1 rack and an Altura pannier. Not for the new RockHopper; I'm thinking about converting my old one into a commuting bike instead of my old road bike. I get too hot with a ruckack on my back. Will need to change my fat knobblies for something more roadworthy, and plan on fitting some full guards.

The alternative plan for the old RockHopper is to turn it into an Xtracycle, but I don't really think I have enough need of something like that for it to make sense.
