Shall we start a thread about no threads?

That'll be 'The no threads thread'.

That has a good ring to it.

We could post pictures of what we wanted to buy, but have not, and we can congratulate each other etc etc.

Not bought by me, but my partner has agreed to have the loan of one of these bad boys for 6 months for her business, at no cost:

Our council have bought 4 of them, and are offering them to local businesses, which seems to be a stonking idea to me.
She's even allowed to put her companies livery on it - after 6 months, it looks like she can carry on using it, but they will charge a nominal amount just to cover servicing and parts.

This specific bike in this config seems to retail for £4500 +VAT.

I suspect she will more than save the servicing costs with the lack of diesel being used, less servicing for our van, and no car park tickets being required.

My only challenge is re-arranging the garage to accommodate it's 2.75m length (Happily it is not the XL) and the ~60cm wide cargo box.
I think her Tacx Vortex will be a casualty, but to be fair she uses it maybe twice a year at most :D

Hoping I get to have a go as well o:)
Sadly that will almost certainly mean out trusty Kona Minute will have to go :'(

On an unrelated note, I have been after a 2022 Scott Cadence helmet in stealth black for as long as they have existed.
Westbrook seem to be the only retailer in the UK to have any, but they are solidly stuck at £153, which to me just seems a bit steep, as good as a helmet as I know it is.

Lordgun Bicycles have 3 2022 helmets, a silver reflective one, a black and blue one, and this stealth black one.

They have also just reduced the price to a far more palatable £103! :)
The law of sod comes in here, as the only size and colour combination they do NOT have in stock, is of course stealth black in medium :s

I have sent them a pleading e-mail, as noticed that the Scott website says they have stock - but they want £180.

Perfetto long sleeve at Merlin for £96, possible 8.5% cashback (new customer) from TCB as well.
If you go straight to Merlin the price is £105, however if you Google it, the sponsored results at the top of the page show Merlin offering it at £107, if you use that link then the Merlin site offers an extra 10% off after that

Why are Sportful obsessed with putting red stripes on everything :#

It's probably a way to help you with the #nopurchasesin6months goal, I guess? And to allow us mortals who like colours that match with black and red an opportunity to dust off our wallets?

Also, that blue bibs price is totally censored. I mean, I don't like those bibs in that colour, and I'm banging my head against the wall. Now, all I need is to urge the desire to buy a perfetto in orange, which is somehow back in stock in merlin...

You missed a previous sale then. I got one for £86.
My only gripe is that it is bright Yellow and I wanted the petrol coloured one which was £15 more... If you want to make me an offer?

She doesn't deliver perse, well she delivers childrens music classes I guess, but she has a load of paraphernalia to cart about.

Massive foam floor mats is the biggest bulky item, though not that heavy.
Various cuddly toys depending on what that days theme is.
A fairly large and heavy bluetooth speaker thing
Musical shakers, and various other props, drums and drum sticks etc, plus usually a ukulele, xylophone, you get the idea.

We do have an undertaker down the end of our road, and one on the road behind ours, a bit of a hotspot, or coldspot I suppose you could say.
So potentially she could offer some kind of transportation service to them as a side hustle.
I think I may not suggest that though.

*This was on my exclusion list*

Bit the bullet, and ordered the stealth black Scott Cadence helmet from Westbrook, seemingly the only retailer in the UK to have access to any :/

Lordgun had the 2022 range, and 2 colours in all 3 sizes, but the stealth black in only 2 sizes, and of course the one combination they did not have, and could not get hold of was stealth black in medium - a real bummer, as they had just dropped the price to an entirely reasonable £103 :'(

So Westbrook had it for £153, but had a 10% code, so £137 - not stunning, but I suspect the best I am going to be able to do.

IF it turns up, it will be ready for the Scott Addict in the spring.

You have to admit, it is exceedingly stealthy and black B)

Yep, great value to, though the white lettering would annoy me.

Alas I tried Kask several years ago, and it's not compatible with the shape of my bonce.
Same goes for Met and Giro :/

I have a Giro Cinder MIPS which is alright. Not perfect, but alright. However, Kask is completely incompatible with my head. Can't do a cheap decathlon helmet for commuting either. It's like they're designed for alien or something.

After finding this remote control floor fan for £120, which I think is the fault of @kingstongraham possibly as I wasn't remotely looking, I then found it here for £105, so have ordered.

Will report back with the performance.

Is the above rated better than the ~£85 sale price, without looking anywhere else for the Vacmaster? https://smile.amazon.co.uk/Vacmaster-Cardio54-Control-Cycling-trainers/dp/B08WJ2XST9/ref=sr_1_1

I was all set to buy one last year and then received a Toatronics pedestal fan out of the blue as a gift, it's not bad to be fair, but I always wondered if I missed out on a super turbo fan.

Dude, it's on a better offer here direct:
    https://cleva-uk.com/products/vacmaster-cardio54-fan

Plus 10% discount if you sign up, so £72 - someone else posted the offer recently.

    £72 versus £105.

Presuming the one I have just bought is as good as the sealey 18" fan, if I were just to have one, it would be the big floor fan.

The Cleva is excellent, but due to the size of the outlet, it's a fairly narrow channel of air - you could of course move it further away to counteract that, but I have to have mine fairly close so use mine for face and upper body.
The remote with 3 speeds is great and reliable.

If they had some kind of diffuser you could put on it to spread the airflow, it would probably be sufficient as a one unit job, but personally I like having two.

I had a pedestal fan for several years, and due to it's nature they just can't generate the airflow in the same way a floor fan can - only suitable as a face cooler in my opinion - well definitely in the warmer months.

Also at that point, many years ago, I had a fluid wheel on trainer, no erg of course, and thought the pedestal fan was more than sufficient.
Now I know much more what working really hard is on a V02 or Anaerobic workout, and now realise more cooling is needed.

If noise is an issue, the Cleva is quieter than my sealey, but neither are horrendously loud imo, but then I use mine in a garage, so perhaps my family would think differently if I was using it at 6am on the weekend indoors.

I see the headwind can be had for £190ish, but the Cleva at £72 seems a much better buy, and appears to be more powerful as well.

Happy to take a video so you can hear the sound difference if that helps, although not sure how long the Cleva will be on at that price for.

This is a little bit crazy I think, a 4iiii P2 105 crank arm, for £168 from PBK, after discount code and TCB cashback.

Oh and a couple of pairs of celeste socks as a present for my daughter, they were also bargainous, £10 down to £3.50 a pair.
