Gauntlet laid - I am going to try and not order any cycle clothing (including shoes) for my own use, before April 4th.

I'm going to exclude helmets, and mechanical parts from that list, as I know I have some requirements in the next few months.

This would be useful for my bank balance.

A fair few, and obviously different colours :D

I do have a couple of elderly Lazer helmets knocking about, but they rarely get an outing, and should probably be binned.

I have 3 Scott Cadences, 2 were £50 bargains - one I use for commuting, and the other one is 'stock' should anything befall my current one, whilst the more full price and more modern one, is for 'nice day' bike rides.
I also have a Scott Centric, which is more for family rides.

I do have my eye on this centric though to go with the new gravel bike:

But nowhere has it for less than £135 currently :|

Likewise I would like this all black cadence, but again, £153 is the cheapest :'(

If anyone sees a Medium 2022 Scott Cadence Plus helmet in stealth black for a decent discount, please let me know - Lordgun in theory have it for £133, but only in Small or Large.

Had a look. Made the Prog padded shorts expensive rather than extortionate.

Just an update on the Competizione shorts:

worn for the first time today: utterly lovely: perfect length (just above knee) tight, really nice pad, so comfy you can't actually feel them.

So nice I ordered another pair when we stopped mid ride for a coffee.

    Recommended.

If you like these but find it a bit chilly willy in the cooling temperatures then I fully recommend the Nanoflex bib shorts. Good for autumn, spring, mild winters and cold summers. Got a pair in the Mantel sale and I liked them so much that I have just bought another 2 from Sigma at £90. Cheapest available right now.

Love the blue and it's been a long while since I bought any Nalini stuff.
Anyone have any experience of the SERIE 3D M 80 GEL/NERO pad?

Yup! It's mentioned in the Wiggle blurb.

"Castelli have taken their original Omloop all-weather cycling short and upgraded the fabric to full Nano Flex 3G to create the Nanoflex Pro 2 Race Bib Shorts. Be it dry, cold, wet, or a bit of them all, whatever the weather these have you covered."

Ah had not checked Wiggle, though now I do, the reviews are not that glowing.

Not as long as the Omloops is one observation, and not that water resistant is another.

Luckily I stocked up on omloops, so have 1 pair with a repaired hole in that I use for commuting, two other pairs, and one still in a bag pair.

Obviously I was not looking to buy anything anyway, due to the laying of the gauntlet.

Tried this Endura (Pro SL II) jersey for the first time on Sunday.

Wore it with a thin base layer, and a jacket over the top for a very gentle family ride, then loaded up on food (Coffee, sandwiches and cakes/scones) during an afternoon tea at a cafe, then I took the jacket off, and rode home at a near threshold effort for an hour.

If anything, given the effort, it was a little too warm for that hour, but the fit and quality are outstanding, it's really TOP quality.

So many manufacturers are really getting their game together now, no need to settle for sub standard kit anymore.

Mine cost £82 after cashback, as I wanted the purple colour, but I managed to get the black one for about £57, and I think I have seen some other colours out there for £50.

It's not a thick jersey, but is one for spring/autumn conditions I would say, and of course you can alter it's effectiveness with different base layers and or top layers/gilets etc etc.

Pockets are a good size, and not too high.

Also first proper ride with the sub £200 4iiii 105 crank - appears to work faultlessly, haven't even tried to install the app yet, not sure what it would give me, maybe battery life, and ability to adjust it's measurement.

I appreciate the offer. However, I opted for the Flandria shorts at the bargain price of £35 through Saddleback.
Bit pixxed off at Sigma TBH, seen as I have an account with them and I sourced a pair of Castelli endurance 3's with the Prog pad from Wiggle as opposed to Sigma's odd eclectic sale criteria.

    **Not clothing**

Hadn't clocked that the Marathon Supreme tyres are being discontinued, with no clear replacement as yet :#

As they are my latest commuter tyre in the 40mm flavour, and seemingly only SJS and Spa have any stock, I decided to order 4 to have as stock from SJS, who were a bit cheaper.
Commuting mileage will be somewhere in the region 3500 miles a year, plus it will have duties as family ride bike, and winter weekend ride bike, so potentially 5k a year.
Any gravel duties will be on the original factory set of tyres.

Reviews seem to suggest I might get a years wear out of a set, well maybe not the rear.

Hopefully that will keep me rolling for a 3 years or so, and maybe by then something equivalent will have been created.

Have to say, the ride on those 40s is plush indeed, running them currently at 55 rear, 50 front, and very comfy indeed.
Went for a near threshold effort on Sunday for a fraction under an hour, and my average speed (I know it's not an ideal measure) was approx 6-10% slower than I would have expected on a bike with race tyres\latex tubes fitted.

Merlin have the 2" Supreme in stock for ~£28 with their 10% off Schwalbe deal. I'd guestimate it to be ~46/47mm in reality.

A 40mm on a rear https://www.merlincycles.com/pro-build-chosen-hub-alex-volar-trail-wheels-29-82077.html (23mm internal rim width) is ~38mm on my Marasa hybrid commuter, while a 35mm on the default front wheel (~20mm internal rim width) is 32mm.
I have a 32mm variant in the spares box that I expect would fit my Cube road bike very easily.

Bloody hell. the maximum I can fit are 28mm. They are Vittoria's and they don't sit large on the rim.
25mm Michelin Pro 4's sat bigger than the 28mm Vittoria's.

I saw those, but couldn't work out exactly what size they were, and whether they would fit a 700c, so decided not to take the risk, a healthy saving though.

The max I can fit under my mudguards is 40mm, so sounds like they would have been too wide anyway.

Delighted to have landed this 4 year old 44cm Bianchi for my daughter - 30 miles covered in it's entire life, and you can tell - £300.
Probably won't gift it to her until spring next year.

Reviews say the brakes are not the best, so might look to replace with some cheapy Shimano jobbies, Merlin have a pair for £30 currently.

Also thinking of this saddle possibly - would you class it as Celeste?
