I guess if you don't post again, we assume it hasn't gone to plan.

I have an unused pair tucked away somewhere too, now I think about it.,

  • Booked a last minute trip to Tenerife for next week for a few days of tough training so got a fresh full piece from Pas Normal. Bought a couple of bits from them before and really like their simple, understated design.

I was wondering how your search was going! The 61cm has a fairly modest 397mm reach, but a relatively huge 647mm stack!

Looks like you might be able to fit at least 35mm tyres. :)

depends what "managed to avoid" means...

Personally I think if HMRC fails to spot a parcel, fair enough, but if the seller deliberately attempts to avoid the customer having to pay import tax, as it's often the case declaring the goods as gifts or very low value items, then it's not something to boast too much about.

Yeah, i've got fed up of looking, and no cube nuroads in a 61 could be got before jan 2019 for a trial, and i just couldn't find anything else to buy with the Halfords C2W voucher. Was really considering buying two £400flat bar bikes and a set of winter cycling shoes....
I really wanted to want the Triban RC 520, and was talking to a LBS about buying the bike through them, but having tried the XL there was no way it was going to be doable.

Still, with the LBS for the diverge we've agreed an extended seatpost and possibly a stem change..

A new Exposure Joystick (+ Haribo). Too bad I didn't ride to work today.

Contemplating giving the old one to the caretaker here as he was whinging that his lights were on their last legs and his wife won't let him use her credit card to buy any bike bits.

2x Gravel King SK tan wall tubeless tyres in 38mm. Ordered from Merlin as they've got their 10% off tyres offer on again, plus I had a loyalty voucher to use. Worked out @ £24 each....hopefully the slightly smaller width won't rub the inside of my forks as much as my Nano's which measure 43mm.

  • The LBS owner very cunningly lent me his cannondale slate whilst he’s off the bike injured.

It’s a stunner with some decent mods, lovely to ride and he knew I’d like it!
Fast forward a few months and we’ve ageeed it’s staying in my garage at a good price.

And as it’s already in the garage it’s slipped under the wenches radar.

Well played Ian at the bike shop!

Sunrace MX8 11-42 cassette for the 1x conversion. Struggled a little with the 11-40t when the bike was fully loaded, so we'll see if it makes much difference.

Bikehut 1600 lumens light and remote for £36.00

Bloody bright light, far too bright for anything other than off road or traffic free routes.

Annoying, given its got 8 modes, to go up in brightness, you've got to go through them all, even though the remote has both an up and down direction; up is for on/off :-(

Bit OTT... the lights market is going bananas... how long does it last at 1600 Lumens? It's either got a battery the size of a solar system or it'll be drained in an hour

It is OTT, and quite heavy/bulky to sit on the bars. My son has the 1000 version with two LEDs and teo cells in the batter and that 3-4 lasts hours though. With and extra LED and extra cell in the battery I would expect the same from this version. You dont run it on full though - actually full power is kinda pointless - you would probably only run it on medium and those go for hours and hours. I think the 1000 is the better compromise all round to be honest. I have the single LED/Single Cell battery and thats good enough for me, although my main light is actually a Ravemen 1200 and the single LED halfords is just a backup.

They also have a USB charger built in - so you can charge your phone or Garmin from them. Thats part of the reason I bought the single LED version - strip all the bike mount stuff off and you have a clean looking torch which is really bright and can charge your other devices when out wild camping if they run out and you dont need the torch so much.

Yeah, I know. I've ordered a new Fresnel lens to put in front of the 1600 lumens, and I ran it at 4th power setting (640lm, 2.5hours) last night and it was too bright still, but the 240lm(7hrs) is too low. Still, between the two I should be able to get a week's commute out of it between charges, unlike my daily charge on the nanoshot+ it's replacing.

Tempted to buy another, rip it apart, and stick in a better, simpler, driver.

Over the last couple of weeks...

1 x On-One large flange front track hub
1 x System EX large flange double fixed rear track hub (pretty much the same as the On-One one)
2 x Mach1 Combo 650b double wall, single eyelet rim brake rims (well I actually bought a couple of 'Tru-build' wheels to dismantle which had these rims, as it was the cheapest way to buy some decent rim brake 650b rims)
    36 x Araya double butted 268mm spokes
    36 x Araya double butted 270mm spokes
    2 x Panaracer Gravelking 650x38b tyres
    2 x rim tape

Looking forward to the build. Just have to hope when they're all together that I can get them to fit one of my bikes!

Which is this or do you mean the 1000?

I am trying to fit a light on a set of bars which is wholly obscured by a basket, and the basket can't mount a light itself.

I took it to be the Raveman PR1200. A 1200 Lumens dual XM-L2 LED with a shaped beam for road use (600 lumens, 3.5 hours)

For your situation, have you considered a brake mount mounted light so that it's under the basket?
