Bender what pedals do you use?

I'd be interested to hear too, haven't even opened mine yet

    What are you using solboy?

Will be likely to use mine with M324's.

Could be down to size... bigger shoes maybe have fewer issues

Bought a pair of these bad boys in the summer but wore them for the first time today. Waterproofing seems great, feet were toasty (but not too hot) and the only problem would seem to be water ingress at the tops but I'm guessing that just putting my longs over the top will sort out that problem.

I've tried the Extreme version of those tyres. Dead slow but certainly puncture resistant and grippy.

Just got a can of etching primer.
Decided to finally tackle the corrosion around the BB shell / insides of the chainstays on the alu winter bike.
I suspect that grit builds up between the mudguard and the frame, and the vibration when riding means it's quite effectively grinding away the paint. Once it gets through to the alu, the salty water starts the process of corrosion which seems to expand and lift the paint, exposing more alu and spreading slowly but surely. After several years of ignoring it and telling myself it's just a surface phenomenon, at the last strip-down and inspection it all looked a bit too scary down there. Be daft to let a £600 frameset trash itself for want of a bit of TLC.

I Lolled because I wont get a response from Giro I am pretty sure of that!

Anyway picked up some Crank Bros Shoe Shields today and problem sorted. Quite pleased as the cleat remains recessed.
  • With a eye to the wetter gravelly weather bought some slime tubes for the Gravel bike since the wet flints seem to be making a b line for the front tyre.

Ever since I got tubulars for the TT bike I've worried about punctures. I finally got one the morning of a race this year and peeling off a tub is not something you want to be doing at stupid o'clock.

So I've been on the lookout for tubeless clinchers and have been repeatedly admiring the Parcours Wheels site but have so far resisted.

However, browsing eBay I came across some (takesdeepbreath) Spin Elite Series RS-FiftyEight Fat Boys. Just what the doctor ordered.

I may be swapping 88/65mm for 58/58mm but I'll have less stress, and the Cervelo will get to wear them sometimes.

    Yummy.

Down side is they don't fit in my wall hooks without deflating the tyres so I might need to completely rearrange my garage.

Ultegra r8000 chainset (170mm). Bought as an upgrade for my Solace, slightly shorter crank arm than I typically go for but have just ridden a bike fitted with one of these round Mallorca for a week and it felt pretty good TBH. A bargain courtesy of the Epic Cycles ebay store. Pulled the trigger whilst i was away due to it being the last one, only to receive the ebay site-wide 10% discount code the following morning! Would have got it down to only £117  Never mind. Just turned up this morning.

Those wheels look well nice on the bike. Been looking at the rude full gas site and been seriously tempted to get set. What's your verdict?

The grey decals perfectly match the bike.

Also they fly. Did the usual club run today and it was like I had a rocket pack. Very comfortable and sturdy, tested when I hit a pot hole hard enough to launch a bidon. Was doing about 42 kph at the time so didn't stop to retrieve it.

Hope it was biodegradeable then. Or that there are lots of keen litter picker-upperers in that area. Poor behaviour otherwise; 42kph is not a valid excuse. I once turned round and cycled back up to the top of Wrynose pass from the bottom in search of a bottle that had ejected. I didn't find it. To be fair, it had probably landed about half a mile from, and 300 feet below the road over a potential distance of a good mile......

It was on an out and back section so I did stop to look on the way back. Didn't find it, but I did find a different one, so I obviously wasn't the only person to hit that bump.

The More I see them, the more they appeal to me. The grey is well nice on your bike. A lot of crit riders seem to use them.

New front mech given the issues I'm having in getting the 6800 front mech to play nicely with my new r8000 chainset. And a Shimano chain pin to allow me to fit it. Annoyingly (and after paying the LBS to adjust the 6800 front mech) I seem to have managed to remove the chain rub across both chain rings and the whole cassette myself. That said, only 1.5mm clearance with my rear tyre when in big chain ring so think it'll be worth "upgrading" to the r8000 version with its short arm length and better system for dialling in chain tension via an Allen key bolt.

    ...and this

Similar to Asprilla, my decision to go for 50mm rather than my originally intended 38mm carbon rims means my previous d-lock is now too short! The internal dimensions on this are supposedly bigger.
