I find kmc very good, the 11 speed one that is £15/16 on ribble... never tried shimano chains tbh, I like things easy and the lack of missing link puts me off

Just spent my cashback money on enough innertubes to get free postage from Wiggle. 7, as it happens. Turns out I only have 1 spare, erk!

  • Ortlieb Micro saddle bag.

Mostly because someone stole my £13 Bontrager micro saddle bag, along with forty quids worth of tools...from a CCTV covered secure car park.

Really impressed with the quality, and very easy to detach/refit!

So far it contains an inner tube, chain link, tyre patches, CO2 inflator with two bottles, pretty big multi tool with chain tool/tyre levers. And room left over.

I guess every cloud has a silver lining.

A pair of uvex glasses in the canyon sale, variable lenses, match my new lid. Checked prices as there's a bit of a debate in the bargains thread about inflated rrp, even with £6 plus postage they appear to,be about £10-15 cheaper than elsewhere.

I've got two. Great, apart from the fact they rattle like you wouldn't believe after a while. Probably due to the plastic mating surfaces on the QR assembly wearing down over time, and no amount of packing with masking tape etc seems to have solved it. Hope you have better luck!

Thanks for the heads up. If that happens I am in the fortunate position to be to do something about it...I have a milling machine.

I just got a Topeak seat pack to replace one that's disintegrating after 10 years. I'd noticed that their newer clip-on ones had a rear loop that's too narrow to take the clip on my Cateye rear light. This strap-on version is happily OK.

I also got a second, cheaper rear light, but I'm now struggling to see where / how I can mount it because of it's shape, it's mounting bracket, and the fact I'm a short@rse with not so much seatpost showing. Think it's going to have to go in the gap between the top of the rear mudguard and the underside of the seatpack, either on the seatpost or the very top of the seatstay...

    Oh, and some Sorpasso bibtights

I've bought a set of Schwalbe Ultremo Aqua Wet Weather Road Tyres but can't really find much in the way of reviews other than the odd very sticky grippy but wear out fast in the dry ....whatever that might be

More bits for the bike build - mudguards, bar tape, tubes, di2 seatpost mount, braze-on adaptor. Just can't quite bring myself to push the button on the groupset until the cut-off date on my credit card billing cycle. Otherwise it'll be paid for before I get the frameset.

A Giro Foray helmet from Cycle Surgery for Winstanleys price plue postage made it £31.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.
  • Rapha Cross jersey down to £60.

And, bought a Rapha long sleeve Brevet wind jersey. Had a £25 code. Net cost of that £145 garment, £42.50 (it's reduced to £72.50 at the moment)

Don't tell me that's the Alpha insulated one?! Had my eye on that as thought it looked good at 150 notes (similar to the Sportful one i have but arguably better looking). Sounds like a proper bargain....

  • Nah, this one:

    http://www.rapha.cc/gb/en/shop/brevet-l ... BWB01LSPUR

Not everyone's cup of tea colour wise, hence the reduction I guess.

I reviewed it here, it is a good piece.

But for £42.50 or even £72.50 it's a bloody great thing, on CERTAIN days.

Sportful Fiandre Extreme in medium arrived:
    Sportful-Fiandre-Extreme-NeoShell-Jacket-Cycling-Waterproof-Jackets-Red-Fire-Anthracite-AW15-4_zpsk6zpkbas.jpg
Gutted, 0.5 size too small. Tried a large last year and was just a tad too big. Lovely bit of kit, and eye-searingly bright. Back to Evans it goes....typical I'm between sizes as have been after the jacket for ages.

This arrived too. Colour is marmite, and probably highly impractical, but got it for only 65 quid. Really can't decide whether to keep, but not blown away by it given everything I've read....bought in medium and slightly baggy around the midriff. Hmmm....

That's what I thought, but doesn't look as fitted on me as the picture above. My Perfetto SS in medium is quite a bit tighter in comparison. Remember going through a few Gabbas before getting a good fit, seemed stated sizes differed between Castelli factories. This Alpha jersey is "made in Moldova" :?

You just need to eat a few more pies!
  • I do think Castelli are very variable even between the same garment. Do you have an Evans close by to try a small?

A direct drive turbo and an Ambrosio cassette (Shimano spline, Campagnolo pitch) to go on it.

And a 7-day free trial of Zwift.
