Torque wrench slipped out of place a few times when doing the last bit of tightening.

User error really, swapped it so many times I've perhaps not been as careful as I should.

I now have a shortage of bolts so thought I would grab a few as I previously paid a fiver for one on ebay and they're only two quid from evans.

Good God man. Get the Wera hex-drive bits; they're well made and do (honestly) help prevent rounding out.

    This?

Will it go on the end of a torque wrench?

    I have this generic one:

Cannondale Save 25.4 seatpost. Should knock about 80g off my current Cannondale C2 seatpost.

Found one for £85 down from £100 on PedalOn.

How long is it, it doesn't seem to say?

So you believe it is lighter than a C2 carbon seatpost - must make that one about 300g - are you Di2?

This place reckons it is 350mm, which is what I would need.
    https://qwertycycles.co.uk/products/cannondale-save-carbon-seatpost-di2-25-4-diameter?utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=googlepla&variant=19147776325&gclid=CNjtzvL36dECFc-_7QodnLUIvA

    It's 25.4 x 350.

I'm running DA mech and will cut the Di2 bung off to save further weight.

My C2 post is 236g, the Save weighs 193g, so should be around 160g once trimmed.

Hmmm. Actually, on further investigation the product I'm thinking of might be imaginary.

Sorry, I thought Wera did a 1/4" and a 3/8" square drive set of 3mm-8mm Hex Plus bits. Turns out they don't, apparently.

Still struggling to see how you're stripping 5mm socket heads though at ~12Nm. They are made of actual steel, right, and not say, brie?

Aero fit 900 warm waist tights.
    Insulated bottle

Well that's another set of tights to return. Neither long enough, or wide enough around the calves/thigh. Physically couldn't pull the knee section onto the knee.
Which is a shame, as the fabric seemed nice, and the windproof section around the groin would have been really handy!
However, I like the bottle, worth the 2.99, as I've only had a camelbak before as a mostly day ride MTB'r
Intent on Cycling Commuting on a budget, but keep on breaking/crashing/finding nice stuff to buy.

Can be an issue with allen keys if there is a lot of dirt in the bolt. It doesn't go in far enough so you get a poor engagement when you attempt to undo it.

Also with the clamp bolts on the pedal arm it could be overtightening. Given the dire warnings the instructions have about the arm falling off it could be that the tightening gets overdone. I was a little surprised at the lack of force required for 12Nm the first time I used a torque wrench to install them so I'd guess I was in that category of people. :(

    What a bellend.

The point for saving weight is that I enjoy upgrading my bikes and like to get them as light as sensibly possible.

Sorry I didn't get custom wheels built, but my carbon Mavic's are doing great.

I may also add that my BF is under 12%. Sorry for being muscular.

some rapha stuff in the sale

most proudly the Dan from Nam jersey.
  • Shimano PD-A600's.

They are SO LIGHT and quite beautiful.

Or at least they WERE beautiful, several tests to set the tension and the gorgeous finish is already scratched.

After a couple of rides in the mud they will probably look as mud splattered as the rest of the bike, shame riding on the road would probably get me killed.

Small Topeak seatpack and some Castelli Sorpasso bibtights to replace items that are over a decade old and disintegrating. Cashed in Christmas Wiggle vouchers and remembered to add the Save10 code for an extra tenner off :D

a Rotor Q-ring .... seeing that I was turning the commuter from a 2x10 into a 1x10 it seemed silly not to take the opportunity to give myself an unbiased opinon on oval rings.

Looking forward to finally seeing if there is any difference to me whatsoever

ALÈ winter gloves, £21.99 from Cyclestore, after deciding the Vulpine ones I got in the sale weren't up to proper cold riding duties. Look good for the price, thermal lined, wind and water proof but finger and thumbs slightly longer than normal. Went for mediums after hearing Alè sizing runs small, bit slightly too big. Shame.

Thanks for that, missed this altogether, and have enough base layers myself, but picked up two of these for my gf, with an extra 10% discount (Through my work place), so £14.40 each instead of £40 :D

    Gambled on medium.

That Wiggle voucher is probably the best voucher since sliced bread, if you like spending money that is :D. It sometimes works in baskets under £50.

I have just bought a Garmin Combo mount for my Virb and my 520, another Craft baselayer and a chain keeper for £36. Bargain.

Castelli Alpha Jersey and a Garmin HRM-Run (physio has me on the treadmill, geek in me wants better stats re vertical oscillation, ground contact time, L/R balance, etc.; all I want is to be able to run a 5k in less than 25m again--this really isn't much of an ask--then I can go back to being a non-runner).
  • I raided Atheleteshop last night...
    Jumbo Jim 4.0" and 4.4"
    SKS Grand DAD front mudguard
    SKS Beavertail XL mudguard set

Only slight surprises were £7.08 for delivery to local store (£1 extra for home delivery) and if I wanted to pay by Paypal, there was a fee of ~£2.80 plus ~3.5% of payment, so I paid by debit card for free!

Order arrived a while ago, a day earlier than the initial estimate, so good initial impression after seeing what I thought were "too good to be true" prices on a few bits for a while.

Despite paying less postage to have package delivered to local store, it was delivered to my door. :)

I placed the order at the weekend, when Topcashback were doing a £5 bonus cashback, but so far there's no sign of the tracking of standard cashback at all nevermind the bonus.:(

This whole internet shopping malarkey is getting complicated, now we often have to pay for delivery again these days, plus it looks like perhaps signing up to Athleteshop's newletter for a £4.88 discount code may have prevented me getting ~£3 cashback and a £5 bonus.

top tip keep your pump in your jersey pocket, when there mounted on the frame water and mud destroys it
