Um, why did you need TWO chains to get ONE bike back on the road?

Um, why did you need TWO chains to get ONE bike back on the road?

Because I have already bought one allegedly long chain for it which ain't long enough and is now on another bike. So I have just bought 2 and will attach them together and go from there.

    PBK NZ World Series Jersey

I needed a more subtle jersey than those Italian day-glo ones I usually wear.

Bought a new back wheel at my LBS. They changed the cassette for me while I waited, which I thought was nice.

It's a Deore 6-bolt disc hub with Mavic 717 rims and black spokes. It does the whole "going round" thing much better than the previous wheel, which is now in the pile to be taken to the recycling yard.
Today is a good day to ride

Got the road bike back on Saturday after its first major overhaul - had the original 105 GS 52/39 & 12-25 rings, chain & cassette replaced with 53/39 & 11-25 + new chain, new BB, new axles & bearings front & rear, new cables, new front brake assy after the prev brakes semi-seized up, a few spokes and wheels trued up, + some Michelin Pro Race 3 tyres & tubes in the post. Nice to have it back tin tip-top condition, even it was a bit pricey with all the bits & labour. But there's a recession on - we all need to spend money supporting our LBS.

For the tourer, it just looks nice on the old Mercian frame, they're indexed. :D

OK, so I don't know what indexed means, but they're still on the downtube!

Tip of the day - buy some bar tape that is a horrid brown colour already - then you won't have to keep cleaning or replacing it
