Hmm after talking about my saddle sores with the father in law at the wekend

    brooks_b17_narrow_saddle_-_black.jpg

Apparently they never had shorts with pads in when he was riding in the 50's-60's and he only had sores once after just under 200 miles.

It'll look weird on the Boardman with a carbon post but who cares.

Waiting on one of these too

Got one of these myself from Charlie by the seaside. Good hard wearing bag. Mine has now been superceded by a Timbuk2 bag, also from CTBM but a bargain at half price:lol:

Lovely, how about some less mysterious pictures?!

I well remember a notorious teaser from you - the back end of a top tube!

Waiting for Chris at Epic to say I can post the pics I took at the shop - plus an official Epic Cycles portrait. Hopefully I'll get the insurance sorted out tomorrow so I can actually ride the thing........

In the mean time, I have ordered:

For the touring bike since I have Keo Max on the Look...
    636164.jpg

For the MTB/commuter since I think it is time I went totally clipless (only £20 inc cleats)...

20mm pro 3 race tyres and michelin a1 ultralight tubes... Pinched one fitting the front tyre, but got it fine the second time :? I can confirm that they ride like a rocketship and corner like you'd expect 20mm tyres to corner (terrifyingly)

At least you can do that. I'm waiting on two.

One from ebay, posted last Wednesday. No sign at all.

One from Trek, a mega cock up between by LBS and Trek will see it arrive tomorrow. Ordered a week ago.

It will arrive at about 3. Far too late for the other LBS who have my bike to fit my Force groupset.

Leaving me to use a mate's bike for my 100 mile charity bike ride on Saturday.

I'm getting too old I'm afraid. Just can't take the cold like I used to. Maybe when the temp starts pushing 18 on a regular basis. I've got some 3/4 bibs on order too.

Its around 8-10 degrees here in the evening. Too cold for shorts IMO. 3/4 or Bib shorts with knee warmers.

Unless you are a fat arse and generate a lot of heat us lycra louts need proper clothing :)

Oh wait, this is commuting

Just bought a new cassette, nothing fancy, 7 speed shimano job.

was in a rush as I needed my bike to get to work on monday so ended up paying £26 to the only bike shop open on sunday afternoon near me.

Stupid really as I live close to Chain Reaction's showroom and they are open monday evening, and have the same cassette for £13! so even taking into account train fare, I should have taken the train on monday and would have been quids in...

Anyway I had a spare (new) chain already, so thought I was good to go. Turns out my crankset is worn out as well so im still getting some jumping under bigger loads (taking off from lights etc)

My rear mech is on the way out, and my shifters have seen better days.

Is this an excuse to upgrage the whole groupset to 8 speed? ;)

Better than that, it's an excuse to get a new bike, keeping the old one as a spare :-)
