I'm suprised, mine was like wearing a wooly hat, absolutely awful helmet in the summer for overheating on climbs.

Some Bontrager 'RXL All Weather Plus' tyres.. reccommended as an alternative to the rather puncture prone tyres that came on my 2010 Trek 1.5 (3 punctures in 600 miles so far..) - so looking forward to trying em out :)

Is that for the turbo...?
Only joking, cant recommend the R3 highly enough!!

I was so set on an EPS until I spoke to Simon @ Colin Lewis and discussed riding styles and bike fit. We came down to something by Orbea (which was nice) the RS and the R3. The RS is nice but I like the look of the R3 so much more. Just wish it hand internal cable routing like the S2.

Noooooooo how can you choose a Cervelo over an EPS!! The Cervelo will break...

Well it wasn't easy as I have been such a fan of the EPS for so long, but it came down to a very sensible coversation about me enjoying sprints (even though I is crap at them) and wanting something with a bit of go about it.

Don't get me wrong I would adore an EPS but would I be doing it justice? Probably not, even the R3 is way too much bike for me, but it is so comfortable (winner of a Paris Roubaix so it must soak up some bumps) and I love that bottom bracket area.

Plus I have heard all the stories regarding Cervelo's breaking and they don't come with a lifetime warranty do they now? On the other hand when they have broken people have been getting replacements without any hassle. Which has to be a positive.

BUT there is also the S2 which is another beautiful bike.

    Nice. Very nice.

Do you know which wheels you're going to use on it?
    FCN 2-4.

Sure you don't just have a strange shaped head and a weak neck?

See, its less than 300g and seems to be good enough for about 5 protour teams cycling in places like Qatar.

Except when they don't. Or when pressure is applied to the manufacturer to make changes, by many teams. Or when manufacturer a's labels are applied to manufacturer b's products under pressure from star riders.

    Lightest race helmet - 200g

    Heaviest race helmet - 320g

    Average race helmet - 240-280g

Catlike - 260-290g depending on the size. Not that your outburst about it being a pice of crap (like ALL Treks, and ALL Shimano, for example) lacks basis.

There's no need to be touchy just because of your funny shaped head.

No offence - but every roadie goes through a weight weenie phase, where they evaluate performance with weight in a thoroughly unpragmatic way. Its kind of fun to watch, once you come out the other side.

If the Catlike Whisper Plus was a £40 helmet it'd be pretty good, but it's a £120+ helmet these days and it feels the same as my £40 Bell Achera.

The weight is not the thing that really bothers me. It's just so bloody bulky, like a cheap helmet.

Its is quite an old design now, but some riders seem to make it look quit snug. But it is over priced, I agree. Bell are the best value.

That's the thing with helmets - my Giro fits fantastically, but I'd abandoned them for 6 years because my last one made me look like an alien.

I went to Specialized, loved my S1, bought a decibel and looked like an alien again and happened to try a giro on in a shop.

    Its baffling.

Umm, you might want to wear something else as well, while your knees might be toasty with that arrangement, other bits will not... O.o
The above is a post in a forum on the Intertubes, and should be taken with the appropriate amount of seriousness.

Spent £30 in Evans on a £30 Giro Indicator helmet and Crank Bros speed lever. Price match of £23.99 for the helmet :D So far I've had £55 discount on price matches from Evans :D
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

New wheels for the MTB. Mavic EX721 rims and Shimano XTR hubs. Built by Tom at Global Esprit in Earlsfield. That's about 3 months worth of not buying a zone 3 travelcard :D

Had to go home as I had forgot my lunch and as I arrived the UPS man was just dropping off another box of Bikefood's bars in 3 flavours. Also I ordered a mixed pack to get the free delivery, imagine my delight to open it and find they had thrown in one of their excellent 500ml race bottles.

Good stuff that Bikefood. Still can't hack the taste of their hemp protein though.

I've joined the Garmin Edge 705 owners' club- brand-new, properly shrink wrapped & everything Road Performance Package at a preposterously good price that I won't torment any other buyers with. The seller's P&P charge was a bit steep, mind...Charging it up for the first time ATM.
Oh, last things before that were: a Carradice SQR Slim (s/h off the bay), some Hi5 Zero tabs, and a couple of Torq singles.
