    That's an Ionos surely??

How much did you bag it for if you don't mind me asking?

Yeah, it's an Ionos in 'Black/Carbon' colours. Part of a cycle sckeem purchase (same as my replacement 105 shifters) but other than that whatever Madison had it for so about £159 is it, the RRP? or something in that region - silly really for a helmet.

I guess they can be had for less on the web, but it was a LBS purchase obviously.

I believe there's some 08/09 ones around still, they look absolutely fine and what I was after, but the LBS had no stock so I guess I've got an 09/10 one. Not sure what's changed between 'em.

Redvee, are those shoes road-pedal / cleat compatible?!! I'm still stuck on Shimano M540s and beginning to loathe.. I want some SPD-SL or Speedplay zero type action, need road shoes and I'm ever skint

They are MTB shoes so 2 bolt SPD fitting only.

Some sort of padded jacket
    Spank set post clamp
    deraileur shim

plus my new battery for the SSC P7 arrived, yey I'll be able to see again. As did the 18650 rechargeable battery charger, it's buzzes angrily - which really doesn't fill me with confidence.

Bought a Limar 757 MTB helmet (which is near identical to the Limar 777 Road helmet, but comes with a detachable visor and costs less).
Replaces an MET Sfero from 2005.

Just to report back, I'm very happy with the new baselayer.

It's all about having long sleeves with thumb loops, oh yes. No more having to tuck my sleeves inside my gloves on clod rides for me.

Rapha just sent out a mailshot saying that the softshell jacket is reduced by 15%, I replied back saying that was mean of them given I'd only just bought the damned thing

they sent me a voucher for the difference... which was nice

LiT those overshoes are very good, but the pinch on the calf requires longer socks... I tried my Castellis for the first time today very comfy but an absolute twat to get on

Oh man the Castelli winter sock pack from Wiggle is to be recommened - toasty warm Merino goodness.

Rather tempted by the Rapha stowaway, but is it really £130 better than the Montane Velo Featherlite...?

I had a look at it in the shop and it's really very small indeed.. no idea about how waterproof/breathable it is though.. I've still got a very good gore waterproof sweat bucket so really can't justify looking any further

Yeah, I'm considering it. My feet were and continue to be SO COLD.

EDIT: Nope, they only have them in too small a size.

I have both the rapha stowaway and the velo featherlite. The rapha is totally different league. Very waterproof and breathable. I've ridden hard in it and not been too hot and also been in propper downpour and stayed pretty much bone dry. The seams aren't taped so some comes in there.

The montane on the other hand is useless in anything more than drizzle, I've got totally soaked every time it has rained in it. Hence buying the rapha :D

Wiggle... but I bought the last 2 pairs. Coriander had a good link to another site that sells them...

Interesting... dammit it's pricey, but I am sorely tempted to give Rapha another go (the 'fixed' t shirt sucked).

Been spending! Well, since I can't actually get a bike, I might as well

From Wiggle with voucher about £150 I think.

    PRS-20_inuse2.jpg

Rather nice - more faff to mount the bike than a normal stand but nice and secure fitting on bottom bracket and front or rear dropouts. Good for carbon and great access both sides. Superb quality too!

Then some Superstar brake pads for the mtb direct from Superstar.

There was a sale of bike stuff at a local sportscentre this weekend so I got some Conti innertubes (3 for £8), a Kenda lightweight innertube for £3, cleaning brushes, Altura seatbag for commuting stuff, frame protection stickers. Quite good - some great bargains though mostly OK bargains but not enough to make me want to buy too much stuff there rather than at the LBSs. Worth going to if there is one local. http://www.cycle-promotions.co.uk/venues.html

  • Bought some Wellgo R2 SPD-R road pedals to go with my new power-ranger shoes. They were just about to end on eBay with no bids for £2.99, so I couldn't resist. Got some cleats to match for under a tenner. Looking forward to trying them out.

They look VERY like some of the older dura-ace pedals I've seen.

That they are but tell me do they feel larger than you other shoes, assuming they're not BG Pro as well, I just hate the different sizing in cycling even amongst the same brand.
