Little glory for 2nd & 3rd. CSC have do throw everything at it today.
How about Jens & Andy attack on the Galibier...
Carlos attacks on the Croix de Fer...
Andy follows Cadel's wheel and attacks either when he weakens of the foot of AdH (whichever comes first).Rich0 -
eugh - Dad Schleck reckons they are not gonna attack today.. oh great0
-
They got to attack.
Coming 6'th or 72nd is for Columbia riders!Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.0 -
They won't attack because they're only aiming for the team classification now, as exclusively revealed here: http://www.bikeradar.com/forums/viewtop ... t=12578860

It's a real shame that the Lotto team isn't stronger, could make for some real fireworks.
Cadel really is doing this almost on his own0 -
lol David Harmon is exited0
-
A Voeckler gang to charge off, in search of the spots. Cancellara thrown up the road. Maybe, hopefully the big attacks start on the Croix, but it'll all come down to the historical giant.
Whether CSC can take sufficient time out of Evans and Menchov, remains to be seen.
Yup, Harmon is wound up."Science is a tool for cheaters". An anonymous French PE teacher.0 -
Schumi seems to have made an excellent recovery after yesterdays exploits.
Anyone else find these pointless Eurosport stats annoying?
Invariably, they miss something of importance, when showing a graph that a deranged mind has thought up.
The other day, to Prato, they even managed to miss the roundabout crash. :x"Science is a tool for cheaters". An anonymous French PE teacher.0 -

Not that it will work - he lost the tour by 23 secs last year - he wont let it slip again0 -

Was he in it last year?0 -

I thought the same thing when I heard he jumped off the front today. Maybe he came into the tour out of form and is just peaking now.. (in an ideal world eh?)
I find the stats confusing but sometimes some comedy thrown in when they are having a chat,
Did anyone read the info from Roche about the "secret molecule" that they introduced into the Cera that ricco used? Pretty crafty if you ask me0 -
I thought I noted a hint of excitement in Sean Kelly's voice?
Naaarrh!0 -
I'm watching/listening via t'interweb, anyone else seeing about a 90 second delay between the pics and audio?0

I assume SS is up there to take K of the M points?
I hope that's not a "patch" he's wearing on his arm!
CSC seem quite happy to let them go, as, surprisingly does the peloton. I think the next time riders will try to get across will now be on the first ascent."Science is a tool for cheaters". An anonymous French PE teacher.0 -

That makes sense - Riis is such a pro that he wouldn't allow his riders or their Dads to give anything away. He's just sandbagging. Isn't that Sastre's best tactic these days? Didn't he do it on Hautacam the other day, causing Sean to launch into one of his "heh...you know" chortles?

I'm soo excited that this stage if finally here!
Since I'm watching coverage online, hopefully my computer won't bonk on me in the mountains. ;-) For anyone else looking for live streaming of the stage, cyclingfans.com has got several links to choose from.

Dawn0 -
I am at home with TV (and audio playing through hifi for added volume) rather than relying on the streaming coverage from the internet.
I had a major panic though when I turned the digibox on at 9:45 this morning and there was no signal for 10 minutes. Thankfully a re-start seems to have cleared the glitch and I can sit back and enjoy my 7 hour "lunch break".0 -
Well the Galibier was dull. Oscar Freire riding tempo just behind O'Grady and Sorensen0
-
Yeah, I could have kept up.

YEEEEES, GO NIBALI!!
Stage just got better. Hopefully CSC will now keep their powder dry and take it cautiously :P0 -
I missed the race for the mountains points. When Kohl broke to take the points did anyone from Silence or CSC try and chase him down?0
-
Nope, looked like only Voeckler and Augustyn went with him. Kohl took Wegmann (or vice versa).Le Blaireau (1)0
-
I hope they underestimate his strength in the hills and he breaks on the second Climb and they think "ohh he has only gone for the mountains points" - A break from him there with Augustyn would be awesome0
-
A breakaway beginning only near the top of the CdF would be hard to stay away, as there are a couple of places on the descending side where it actually goes uphill and there's a few kms of very straight flat road before the final climb.0
-
Predictibly, not the most exciting of stages, thus far.
Hope they kick of early. The top 6kms of the Croix are really tough......."Science is a tool for cheaters". An anonymous French PE teacher.0 -
If Sastre or Schleck want to win the GC, they have to go on the Croix de Fer. I can't think of a time when someone has attacked on Alpe Huez and taken that much time. Even Armstrong in 2001 took 2 minutes from Ullrich, but that's probably the biggest gap possible and he was far superior.
Of course, very hard to attack early but that's the only option to gain the time needed. Not sure if they can do it.0 -
That'll learn you for wearing black socks Benny.Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.0
