Rode in on the XTC, in baggies and t-shirt today. Passed a guy on a bright green Brompton on the barrage, (same FCN this morning, so fair game), he stuck to my rear wheel until the metal bridge, when I either rode him off my wheel, or he turned off (was concentrating not hitting the tramp with the shopping trolley in the middle of the path).

Wind's picked up now, so will be a head-wind on the way home *shakes fist at the weather Gods*. Hopefully they'll be very little traffic around...

That's where I like picking people off.....I've found a few times now that I've had people who have put on a spurt only to blow-up a bit further up the road :-)

That'll be me then :) If I manage to sustain a 25+ pace till the minor junction before AB, I feel quietly pleased with myself :P

I'm getting to learn what speeds I can maintain and for how long. I'd hate to be the person I just described above.......I know from experience that keeping it between 25 and 30 on the VB-LBR section (enough to see of most people) will normally result in a lot of complaining from my legs however heading the opposite direction from VB and through DSC around 25 with accelerations will keep me relatively safe! That being said by safe I mean from the riders who don't post on here :-)

I've never seen a one-legged giraffe on a bicycle; I always assumed it was because they were too fast to catch...

Well, my ride in was a lot quicker than last night's ride home, possibly because I didn't have a frame with me that I was terrified of putting through someone's car window!

HIghlights include: Completely pasting a gaggle of 3 blokes on roadies in an unexpected burst of speed from lights on the flat - sure, you're all drafting, sehr effizient, but I appear to be going at 27mph. How d'you like them apples?

I think my hair spreading out behind my head adds effect. It sort of says 'definitely a girl. Oh, and a blonde one at that'.

I noticed as I slowed up that another roadie that I hadn't clocked was catching me up, when I stopped at the red it turns out it's another girl who I've chatted to before - a kiwi triathlon-er. So we zipped off round the triangle, and (partly due to my evil manoeuvering) managed to rescalp said gaggle of (by now knackered but had got to the lights as they turned green) roadies while chatting.

    Wot larks.

There was free bike tagging at HPC, and an HGV to sit in, so I did both and was 5 minutes late for work. No biggie. And I appear to have put my bike in my office. Nobody appears to mind. :D

Me, too! I'm rarely disappointed if the lights on AB are red.

I was wondering what that was in the photo, I had thought it may be some sort of sword.

Now that would be awesome! It's not enough scalping someone now the rules call for you to decapitate the poor sods :-)

Would be useful against RLJer's I guess.........

But that would have a completely different (yet still amusing) effect! Besides I don't want to mess up the dudes bike I mean it would be a shame to wreck a nice set of wheels cos the pilot is a knobhead :-D

We could all just tool up and turn The Embankment into a real life game of Road Rash

I must admit I am slightly disappointed, I quite like the idea of a two wheeled bringer of apocalypse.

Well that would just be LiT - haven't you read her posts about her nonchalantly scalping shaved and full team kitted roadies on the beach cruiser whilst doing her nails ;-)

My god I wish that were true. I wonder if I could up the gearing on the ol' criuser a bit...

And I tried to ride no-handed on my very extended ride home just now. It didn't work...

Pestilence seems a bit of a nancy boy, y'know, war's all like the short man syndrome guy, who talks too loudly and brings, well, war to the party. Famine's probably a vegan, over in the corner complaining that the pineapple's touching the cheese. But at least famine's like a proper killer, like war. But pestilence? I mean, come on. Eeeeee OMG no a spider! Damn you pestilence. Rubbish hey?

I'd like to be death, please.

Just to clarify, because this has been laid at LiT's door several times today, but it was I who suggsted Barrafina. And it wasn't I who paid either, when I was taken there.
