The minicab driver who deliberately swerved (thank heavens for disc brakes) at me cos I had the audacity to overtake another cyclist - I was close enough to him to hear the passenger asking "what the hell are you doing?"
Sure the passenger was berating the driver and not you?"Mummy Mummy, when will I grow up?"
"Don't be silly son, you're a bloke, you'll never grow up"0 -
Girl pulled out of a side st in front of me a few days back. Very nearly over the bonnet, but just managed to avoid her. Obvs that is cause for a rant....however since then I've been a bit jumpy & over cautious with side streets, & something that REALLY gets me is the idiots who absolutely scream up to the line & slam on the brakes at the last minute, causing a new pair of shorts to be required :evil:0

YES! I get this a lot!
Similar is when they start off before you have gone all the way past so they pull out just behind you, I'm sure some of them only miss me through good fortune and not their driving skills!www.conjunctivitis.com - a site for sore eyes0 -

If someone is right behind you then they won't pull out anyway and if you have a clear road then it doesn't matter a bit of "swinging" to the middle.0 -
I should know better than to try to inform the locals of Feltham when their driving falls way beyond the standards required. I should accept that the foul harridan in the unroadworthy pile of sh!t with her 14 kids by 18 different fathers had an urgent need to get to the red I was slowing for before me. I then shouldn't go round her to give her the chance to pass me so close I could reach in to the car and catch something off the pox riddled waste of skin. Fortunately I have no idea what the slapper was screaming at me as I was telling her what I thought of her in words she might understand.0

The in laws have bought my son his first proper pair of shoes now he's toddling. They have cars on.
CARS.
Where's the bikes? He loves bikes. First thing he does when I get home is run up to the bike with a big smile and start spinning the pedals.
This annoys me far more than it should, perhaps because my greatest and most rational fear is that some arsehole with an inferiority complex in a car is going to run me off the road and stop me seeing my son grow up.0 -
I got side swiped this morning.
Turning right at a mini roundabout the car behind me tried to over take on the run up to the roundabout, cut in at the last moment hitting my out stretched arm then coming in further to make contact and pushing me to the left.
More luck than judgement that I kept upright.
Tried to catch him but as the lights were green further up the road he got away.
Reported to the police, who tell me I have to go in personally and report it as well
I suppose I should really, but I'm more in favour of waiting for him tomorrow and putting his teeth down his throat.
Probably the only justice he'll get.0 -
Not really a rant...
My fiancee takes the p * ss out of me for brushing my teeth whilst having a pee.
She reckons it's 'just wrong'.
I was under the impression it's a normal, time-saving bit of multi-tasking?0 -

So Monday night I narrowly escaped being smeared over Old Street by a woman turning right from the other direction (ie across the stationary traffic on my right and me and another guy in the bus lane). Me and the other cyclist slam on our brakes and swerve to miss her and she stops too, and as I turn round to give her a withering look, she decides to go for it again. This time she's not so lucky, and neither is the poor guy behind us who ends up over her bonnet, with a buckled wheel and cuts and bruises to his leg. Stupid woman says it wasn't her fault because she 'couldn't see us'. Well maybe, just maybe, you should have stayed where you were rather than risk injuring people.
Police turned up and seemed pretty disinterested but they took details so hopefully the guy will be able to claim on her insurance to fix his bike and get himself a new helmet.0 -

Feltham, such wonderful inhabitants. I used to have to do shifts in Ashford hospital when I was doing A&E at St Peters, always dreaded it given the local population.RIP commute...

Indeed. Just been to Twickers for lunch with the Mrs. Got there in 6 minutes setting a PR as I went. 30th out of 1300+ isn't bad for an old fella in civvies. The return leg took twice as long due to a full belly, lack of motivation and a myriad of other reasons some of which may be valid.
well done. Anywhere nice?
It's alright for restos is Twickers.0 -

Yes they are good there, it's a cosy little place. I'm partial to their Italian sausages, which go in my favourite winter pasta sauce...0 -

I am an engineering student at Pennsylvania state university. My group is trying to find and fix problems with Bike racks and wanted to know what you guys thought! We have a survey that takes no more that a minute. This will not only help us but will help the future of cycling. Here is the link http://goo.gl/forms/b1soRsyLd10

I don't do Twitter, I'm scared to.
I swore I'd never do Facebook, then I did, and now I can't stop.

After being swiped yesterday and reporting it to the police I decided to do a bit of digging myself.
Sat in wait (in the car) for him to come past, I was hoping he would take the same route at the same time, and he did!
Followed him to where he worked, found out his name (where he signed in) and politely asked for him.
When he arrived I, again politely, pointed out who I was, reminded him of the incident yesterday, let him know that I now his car, name, face and where he works.
As I took a picture of him I waved cheerfully and left him there, visibly shaken.
Details have been passed to the police, along with the way in which I obtained the information.
However, if the bloke now thinks I'm going to come after him myself, well that can't be helped, it's not true, but I think his mind will be a bit more focused when it comes to cyclists in the future0
