    I blame Wiggle

I've placed an order for a Hope District 3 which has not yet been processed (been a week) and I wondered if it was possible to add another item to the order.

So I contacted Wiggle via 'contact us' bit on the order - saying "Is it possible to add xxx to the order?"

I check the order and it's been added! No reply from Wiggle just my order amended without my permission.

I was asking IF, not telling them TO

    Yeesh.

Frantic email to Wiggle has not yet been responded to, so I may have to cancel the order just to stop an item I'm not sure I want being charged to my account.

Order cancelled - found it (District 3) £10 cheaper and in stock elsewhere.

I definitely blame Wiggle this time.

Slightly OT perhaps, but I am getting sick of this BR site and the login blocking rules. I cannot now log in through the company internet connection, nor can I log in from my iPhone it seems. That's the secure network of one of the 100 largest corporations here, and the second biggest ISP/telco in the country.

However, pick some junk ISP connection that probably is dodgy (like this one) and I can log in fine!!

To really irritate me, I wondered if my account was in fact hacked. So, this site merrily let me CREATE a new account and emailed me a confirmation user name and everything, and then promptly won't let that User ID log in either!!! WTF?????????????

Also tyres why do I never seem to have a spaer when I need one and also have one when someone else does?

    D'oh! >*slap*< Why didn't I think of that?

    Oh, wait. I did.

Nope, not their fault. I know this because (a) I am in IT and know their system and (b) my iPhone which is also not logging in here is nothing to do with them at all.

How does this affect an iPhone, if at all? That bit I don't know.

Canal path racers: Ringing your bell approximately 1 second before you burst round the narrow bit of blind corner at full speed does not magically remove obstacles from your path, or give anyone else any time to do anything at all really.

Hope you end up in the canal

    I'll say this again.

My iPhone is NOT, repeat NOT using the corporate connection.

It is not the ISP blocking the forum, it is Bike Radar website which has blocked a whole range of IP addresses from ISP's they believe to be spam generators or similar. I've had the issue before, about a year ago, via yet another large corporate connection. That issue was resolved when one of the site admins here (thanks Nicklouse) kindly unblocked the IP address for the specific fixed IP address connection point I was working from.

The error message comes back from the BR site - "Cannot log you in with the information provided".

@ suzyb... as noted in OP, I am using another ISP here (hotel room connection as it happens) which is not on BR's blocked list apparently, hence I can log in and post..

To the bronze coloured range rover that very nearly left hooked me on the highway this morning please indicate before turning left, i'm not psychic. However your profuse apology was accepted and no harm done.

to the absolute ars*hole in the medical courier van (how ironic), honking and swearing because I'm not riding in the gutter is pointless, cutting me up and slamming your brakes on is pathetic and dangerous. Enjoy telling your boss how you got that dent in your side door, it was my pleasure. (I'm afraid i lost my cool for the first time in 3 months, my zen streak is back to zero)

Perhaps you should be emailing his Boss yourself with a little tale to tell of his/her Driver's inept and dangerous driving... maybe the "evidence" will then be noticed.

What kind of fukwit would design a section of the CS3 where there is a two way cycle lane and you ride on the right not the left like every other fuking road? This is bad enough, but to do without any warning signs that it's about to happen and some clear signs saying when you are supposed to cross from left to right & right to left, who has priority and who should give way is the work of an absolute fuking prat. I would say it's an accident waiting to happen, but it's not as I had one this morning, only a minor one, no damage, and I was at fault for crossing to the wrong side to early, but week before last I was nearly taken out by a rang rover turning in front of me who then shouted at me for being on the wrong side of the road. Whoever designed this is a muppet of the first order. I may write to Boris if I can be bothered. I'm not going that way again it's dangerous. Going to stick to Narrow Lane and the Highway.

Besides that, this morning was cold, and I didn't feel great, and I was slow.

Chap on a red Dawes road bike on Beeston Hill today. To be fair, there was a certain effortless grace about how he looped round me whilst I waited at the red light, went onto the pavement, around the fairly blind sharp corner (brick wall on the inside - think of the kiddies  ), across the pelican crossing and on down Beeston Hill.

However, he'd have made up more than the 20 odd seconds he saved if he just got a bit more cycle fitness. He really didn't have much useful pace or I wouldn't have found it so easy to get past him a few moments earlier.
    Faster than a tent.......
  • Well this morning I nearly got hit by a W@nk@ on an L Plated motorbike using our cyclepath in Stevenage when going past the police station.

Apparrently the cyclepath can be used by "Mopeds" but this term is of course debatable. What is a "moped"? well I'm sure vespas and similar tinny runabouts usually ridden by the mother in law, or a honda cub (Pizza delivery Boys) etc I can understand, but this oik was on a Motorbike and weaving all over the place!!!

So from here onward I shall be using my camera to record my travels to and from work on the bike path and I shall not rest until all these motorised nuisances are removed from our beloved bike paths!!!!

    @Aerozine50

Once many (many many) years ago my commute was through Stevenage what was the technical college (and is now ASDA) on my first ever motorised vehicle - a 50cc step-through Tomos moped

Interestingly, on on occasion I was taken out - by a badly ridden bicycle jumping into my path through some bushes near Pin Green :D

send Brake back to Clarks as it wont mount correctly, that was nearly 3 weeks ago.

receive it back today an its missing its mounts an is scratched to buggery.

so i just phoned to say can i have my mount back an also where did the scratches come from?

their response was "it probably happened in transit" so where does that leave me?

they just put it all in a jiffy bag with no padding inside or anything.
