  • Mini cab drivers... Grrr! Perfect example over the weekend - one overtakes me (I'm going 21-22 mph) and then 50 m later cuts me up to turn into a side road. Indicators invisible in the sun made for an interesting emergency stop! Would it have killed him to be 2 seconds later in his journey?!

This lunchtime I will mostly be cycling home to pick up the mobile phone that I forgot this morning.

To get into the house I will be breaking in by climbing over the garage roof because of the keys that I forgot this morning.

And on the way in this morning I shouted loudly at a stupid bitch who overtook me coming up to a mini roundabout with inches to spare about two seconds after I raised and locked my right arm to the horizontal to clearly indicate I was turning right and therefore moving across the lane...............Followed her straight to my office building where it turns out she works in a suite down the corridoor and I will have to face her, no doubt, on a regular basis.

Nice crisp ride in thoiugh :D

my rear light snapped of its mounts last night....dagnammit

i hit pot hole in Walton Vale, where you really don't want to stop if you can avoid it.

the bit that snapped is the bit that locks onto the mount, so no chance of glueing it on a positive note, i get to go light shopping today woohoo

Silly driver tried to undertake me this morning. Approaching a RAB with 2 exits, I'm going righ tso signal and move out, car catches up, tries to go to my left, in a space only just as wide as the car (the road only splits into 2 lanes a couple of car lengths from the RAB itself).

I did a deliberate wobble and gave a little 'hang back' signal with my left hand, so she waited. Got to the RAB a couple of seconds later, all clear so carried most of my speed through it, looked left expecting to see her turning off, realise that she's actually turning right.

So she wanted to undertake in a gap that wasn't there, before moving across to the right, no doubt hitting the brakes either alongside or just in front of me and then turning right, all in the space of, (according to google maps) 120 feet. :? She wouldn't have done it to a car, so don't do it to a bike!

Some waste of oxygen hit (punched?) my car last night & left a dent in it. Heard a thud outside & a woman say "leave it", so took a look but couldn't see anything (dark), just heard them talking as they walked off. This morning notice the 5 cm dent

Nope, suspect the chap was just walking along feeling destructive.
It is London so noticed ages ago another street nearby where someone had walked along with a spray can and put a faint line along lots of cars...

it is slightly embarrassing that they have managed to do some of the things themselves without needing to reprogramme.
Well then next time, get someone who actually knows how to use the CMS and has been given a user guide / training on the CMS to give you the timescales.

If you're going to cycle on the wrong side of the road when going around a corner and up an incline so you're not looking where you are going, please consider putting some lights on your entirely black bike. No reflective bits, all black clothing, black guy so very ninja invisible

This guy wasn't just over the white line but just a couple of feet out from the wrong kerb. V glad that there was nothing behind me when I swerved to avoid him.

I'd be jolly grateful if whoever it is that lets their dog poo in our front garden would stop doing it. If not, I shall lie in wait, follow you home and then poo on your front garden to see how you like it...

X488 red Corsa, cheaply blacked out windows that thought it had right of way. Or more likely that it had time and space to cut across my path at the roundabout. I very much doubt that the driver's IQ was higher than the engine's 75 bhp.
I used to just ride my bike to work but now I find myself going out looking for bigger and bigger hills.

Argh, why can't people show the slightest bit of anticipation?!

I was overtaken on a 50mph road by a car that hit the brakes and indicated right for a side road no more than 2 seconds after it passed me. Not ideal, I wouldn't have overtaken if I was driving and wanting to turn. But what was really stupid was the car behind it, that overtook me at 50mph+ towards the car that was now almost stationary. I honestly thought I was going to get some juicy HD footage of a high speed crash.

Seriously, is it that hard to look beyond the one, immediately-right-in-front-of-your-face hazard, or do these people just overtake before they look beyond the front wheel of the bike? Frikkin eejits.....

Isn't it the classic. I'm in car, car is faster than bike therefore I must overtake.

Before starting to cycle again I did this when driving, since cycling I'm aware that it's often (in London) pointless pushing past a cyclist as they only end up coming back past up so I'm happy to sit and wait. Unlike knobhead yesterday on CS7 in W reg car with turbo and dump valve who pushed past me and then several other cyclist just to join a queue 50yards in front, as I went past I had few choice words for the angry little man.

Returning stuff to Tredz; honestly what a crock of shit. It's worth paying the extra to go to Wiggle who just turn around returns in no time at all.

Returned a ceramic BB to Tredz at the end of August and since then my weeks have been littered to with ignored emails, broken promises of returned calls and audible shrugging of shoulders.

Tredz may as well be in France considering the level of customer service they feel is acceptable.

Not in this case. There was no queue, just a car slowing almost to a stop to make a tight right turn, it wasn't the fact he overtook me there, it was more the fact he only seemed to see the stationary car once he'd got past me.

Another bike nicked from the public racks I use outside work.

That makes me the only remaining person at our company who hasn't had a bike stolen from them...I fear I'm next :(

The last one had a half decent Kryptonite D-Lock as well. Meh.

Do your local police force has a bike theft task force / team. If they do speak to them about the high number of theft from this one location. They may be able to do something.

Possibly, the first one didn't indicate to overtake, but indicated to turn right, and the driver behind him thought he was doing the opposite, so wasn't ready for what happened.

I'm not trying to excuse the feckwittery, just offering a possible cause. There are shades of ineptitude. :-)

What locks do you use? Chain and a D-Lock?

Nice try, but no, I don't think the first car indicated as it overtook me. It got ahead, pulled in, then indicated and braked. It was obvious (to me at least) that it would be slowing right down before the second car started to overtake.
