Thanks Robert, i learnt a very useful gate-opening technique and particularly enjoyed the wall of death!
I should have checked that tyre more carefully - it was flat again yesterday morning.
  • What are peoples thoughts on next tuesdays ride.
Our options. (as i see them.)
Meet early and ride over to Thorndon
Meet early and ride on the resreve.
Go out at normal time ride at Thordon.
    You get the picture
I am trying to organise a ride round the course for the last mud sweat and gears race for that night but not finalised any thing yet.

    My thoughts:
riding in the reserve will give maximum mountain biking time (Thorndon requires half an hour or so road time to get there).
Do enough people have lights to go out at 'normal' time?
  • Ok folks I say we meet at 6.00 and ride around our local patch like Belv says we will get more riding time I am still trying to organise a ride round the course for the last race of the mud sweat and gears series if that comes off we can work that into our ride.
    What say you?

    Hi Dan,
Tonight's is the last scheduled ride of 2009 but post up a list of dates/times when your free and see who's about. You're welcome tonight if you're free.
  • Hi Belv, thanks for the response unfortuntately I can't make it tonight as I'm working, had all last week off too. Should've not decided to rebuild my bike when I had 7 uninterrupted days of freedom!

Does no-one ride in winter then? I'm building up an Inbred at the mo, and was thinking about going singlespeed in muddy times, anyone be interested in a few weeks or so if I get it done?

We ride in winter, just not in a 'clear your diary' kind of way. It's more spontaneous.

A lot of the race course is off the designated cycle routes and i haven't done the race before so i don't know the course (and i wouldn't cycle there even if i did because it's "off the designated cycle routes")
