Did anybody take a look at the Redbridge Cycle Centre web site yet?0
-
I had a look, there is just over 20mtrs of elevation and the trail would have to be ridden about 10 times to get a ride in.
The site only covers 650mtrs by 400mtrs and the track is just over 3 kmNow where's that "Get Out of Crash Free Card"0 -

Having ridden the road circuit, I wasn't impressed by the off road track that goes around the outside. It's a bit lame.
Anyone going out Sunday?0 -
We wont bother organising a trip over there then, i might go over one evening and have a look.0
-
I wasn t impressed at all when i went. Was very bored after 20 mins. Left car in car park and crossed the road on hog hill into Hanault forest, which was much more like it.0
-
Wednesday 1st of July leaving my carpark @ 6.00, riding to Thorndon, an hour or so there then riding back.
Who's in????????????????0 -
Can't make that as I'll be on nights but will join you for the evening of Tuesday 7th. Where do you meet ?0
-
Probably a bit late to ask.. but is anyone going over Thorndon tomorrow morning ? Usual 9 am meet in the car park (nearest A127) ?0
-
Bump.0
-
I intend to be catching some rays on the grass bank next to the Ford place from about 6, so i'll join you when you get that far.0
-
Thanks Muddylegs and Robertpb for leading last night's ride.
It was a great route, although we lost Robert so many times i'm not sure if we all saw exactly the same trails!
(Lesson from last night - must learn to bunny hop)0 -
Belv wrote:Muddylegs,
I'm not sure if trail-clearing is done on a rota or an as-and-when basis, but Marks Hill is getting very narrow (particularly on the 'up') and the path between the 3 steps and the B1007 needs a little trim too.
If you could sort those out before tomorrow night, that'd be great!
Belv, you will be pleased too know i have cut the path from the 3 steps on to the B1007, and i did by hand.
Good ride last night thank you every body. Made contact with someone from Bedgebury in Kent earlier in the week so i think we should have a trip over there and see them.0 -
Sounds like you've earned yourself a cool pint.
I've been due to go to Bedgebury twice this year but have yet to actually get there. Would still like to though.0 -
It gets a bit of a slating in the mag's etc. but I really like it, I think they've done well with the terrain at hand. Can get busy at weekends although thats more the cafe area than the actual single track route. They've done a lot of trail maintenance over the last couple of months and IMO I think it rides nice, a good mix of flowing single track, tight technical sections and hills (unfortunately both up aswell as down !!) I've been quite a few times and still keep going back !0

There are occasional problems with people riding the wrong way and you will often find yourself stuck behind people that have, clearly, never ridden anything like Bedgebury before or are frighteningly ill-equipped.
One of the strangest parts is the berm section. The idea is sound but it's placed on a flat section, so no real speed can be built.
Again, like most places, it's got its faults, but considering it's deep in the garden of England, it is a very good ride.
Ta ta0 -
I ve been there a few times and always enjoyed except once which was when total bog all the way round following a heavy spell of rain. There s a few new sections, quite narrow, faster the better with some tight turns. but the new berm section i think is dire. also not a bad freeride area with northshore sections. i generally go once round at a cruise and have a play in the freeride bit. then round again tyo the finish with a bit more speed. I quite like it there and most of the improvements are worthwhile.0

People coming out to play on Tuesday?0
-
I'm off work this week and may or may not be in the area on Tuesday. If I'm not at the car park by 7 then head off without me, otherwise I'll see you all there!

I'm planning on being there & bringing a mate. Lets hope the weather's not too pants !!!0
-
What happened?
You all missed a good ride tonight there was only one other person. We went back over to Thordon, VERY wet and muddy.0 -
Sorry matey.
I work in Kent and it virtually didn't stop raining all day, so guessed Essex/Basildon would have been the same and it was/would have been rained/called off. Had taken my bike and stuff with me to come straight from work. My mate was gutted too, he literally finished building up his E120 about 4 O'clock & wanted to give it a christening !!!
Next time though !!!0 -
just been out on a training ride, around brentwood from my house through warley and thorndon.
i know theres always people asking for maps etc.
