    My eight year old Look. Nothing special by today's standards, but it's the road bike I've owned the longest from the current 'fleet', and the one I keep coming back to.

    You seem to favour a lot of headset spacers, any reason for that? I wouldn't put my trust in the steerer with that much leverage against it, but thats just my opinion,nice bikes otherwise.

    Why not? Looks like all the forks have steel steerer's on anyway. Maybe the last one is Ti, so at worst you'd only bend it, but I dare say it'd take quite a hit to do that, in the least.

    If you don't mind me asking, what level do you compete at? Surely, the Lightweight wheels really only make a difference at the top levels??

    And yes, it's because I'm jealous :wink::lol:

    Must admit I'm liking the stealth Pina. Here's mine, built it up 15 months ago, but just got around to taking pics. The old wheels are on as selling the lightweights.

    You're selling the Lightweights? Interesting, not cos I want to buy them but please enlighten us why, thought they were the wet dream of every cyclist, well they are mine anyway ... :lol:

    They're great wheels, but since I broke one last year, I have an irrational fear of it happening again! I can't afford to replace another and I really don't want a bike I'm afraid to ride :lol: I realised I've only done a few hundred miles on them in the last 12 months, so I'd be better off selling them.

    You broke on? Are they that fragile? And which ones did you get if you don't mind me asking ...
  • APIII
    APIII Posts: 2,010
    They're not really fragile. The spokes are very strong in rim to hub direction, but a significant sideways impact will break the spoke(s). Mine was a stupid low speed crash and couldn't unclip my left foot, falling onto the wheel. I've heard of people breaking spokes from stray water bottles in races too. It's rare, but it does happen. They were the standards, btw.

    Work in progress...

    I've been trying to make my mind up over seat post, seat colour and bar tape colour. Wheels are being tuned but will be Reynolds Alta Race - despite the temptation to upgrade to some Planet X Carbon 50s...

    I also think I'm beginning to regret opting for a compact...

    With wheels. And bar tape...

    My latest thinking is that a 120mm stem is 20mm too long.
