    Nice.

With hindsight I wish I'd burned my student loans on road bikes and kit than p!ssing it all away on drink, holidays etc.

Latest statement from the Student Loans Company (Ltd.) is for nearly £8k. I could've had a Record-equipped Cento or Cento Uno out of all that.

That's what I'm doing this year :? Although most of the loan is paying for rent and stuff, but the remainder seems to be going on bike bits

    to reddragon;
What is that stem on the nero corsa?! Is it the Ritchey 4-axis? It looks like its got a much steeper angle than the 6degrees stated on the website...

It sure is a Ritchey 4-axis, you can get them in both 73 and 84deg versions. Mine is a 110mm 73deg version.

    My R3 is now sorted:

    3196482663_b79e87f440.jpg

A few of the less major bits will change over the coming months but otherwise this is it for me and new bikes and components! Not that I'm complaining - this thing is LOVELY!!

Thanks - it's nearly all second hand (cranks, saddle, Thomson kit aside) or carried over from previous builds so I'd say around £2k :P
  • Hi folks, this is my new Cube carbon GTC Pro, Shimano Ultegra, Carbon FSA slk chainset/cranks and some cool carbon Planet X 101 wheels ready for this race season....Just awaiting some tribars........

That's a very nice looking bike.

Those de-badged Reynolds wheels? What happened to the Racing 1’s?

Thanks, I love it - REALLY pleased!

The wheels are de-badged Attacks - I left on the small Reynolds valve-finder sticker and one Attack sticker on each side which I think works quite nicely.

Picked up the Reynolds at a good price so sold my Fulcrum R1s on - they almost paid for the Reynolds! 8)

I like very much, not often you see such deep wheels on a "road bike", are they the ones with P-X hubs?

Hi Reddragon, to be honest I have the original Fulcrum Racing 5's for my road riding, but I will be using this mainly for 10 + 25 mile time trialling, but I didn't want a totally focussed TT bike.....there will be some tri-bars to be fitted shortly..........
The Planet X's have American Classic hubs - I have to say, they aren't the lightest carbon aero wheels ( no more than the Fulcrums), but they work well and for the price they are streets ahead of the more well known names for value for money/ bang for buck.......plus they look pretty cool methinks...... 8)

Nice :) . Thought the red/black/white of the Racing 1's would've complemented that frame superbly mind.

p.s. The SRAM looks very much at home aboard your new stead.

I really need to pin my loyalties to one of the groupset makers*. The current situation of splitting wheels between Campag and Shimano doesn't really allow funds to be allocated very efficiently. I'd much rather have three decent wheelsets than the five I have at present.

    * searching for an excuse to buy a new bike?

My bike as it stands! Basso laguna frameset (58cm), hed stinger 50 carbon tubular wheels, carbon centaur groupset (for the most part), toupe saddle etc etc. Haven't thrown it on any accurate scales yet (not really bothered about weight though, but the lighter the better!). Quick jump on the bathroom scales with and without the bike indicates just under 7kg.

Dude, excellent photography work there! How did you do that?

A very tasty bike too, by the way.

Thank you! Was just a quick picture taken in the backgarden last night, will hopefully get some better ones this weekend. It's just a bright porch light on the bike, and a bit of photoshop lol

    Thanks reddragon!! hope this works

Stem now 20mm lower (i like a small frame with short top tube, the omega has a very short head tube at 98 mm, can get really low for TTs)

thanks again, that seems to hace done it.

Specialized sirrus elite with Tiagra components. This bike got me addicted to cycling. lovely ride. No complaints whatsoever.

    3223132948_cdc7021120.jpg

Got this bad boy to feed the habit, so to speak. Silky smooth ride, perfect gear changes every time, but mainly I bought it for it's looks. Shimano 105 components, RS-10 wheels with aero straight pull spokes.
