Hi there.
Nice mix of componentry. It's good to take different bit and pieces from different places and put them together.
Kinda adds up to more than the sum of the individual parts - if you know what I mean!
Cheers, Andy0 -

Love the black and reds, and the weave on the Nero Corsa!
This forum has everything . . . .0 -

That's Bontrager bar tape which I happened to spot in the LBS a couple of days after the crash. Cost was about $12 as I recall. This was not cork tape. It went hard after two years and I have since replaced it.
Your Wilier is a thing of beauty. Did you chose it to match the sofa?0 -

Warrantone - are you ignoring me, or did you not hear the whooshing noise as the last comment went over your head?
Cheers, Andy0 -
You are certainly not being ignored and the comments weren't over my head (I'm 5'11").
These Felt carbon bikes differ mostly due to components. Frame differences are what I consider inconsequential like finish, color of decals, and weave. I got rid of the the cheap heavy handlebars, seat post, stem, and wheels.
Yes, the sum does add up to more than the parts - more like an F1C now!0 -

Hi warrontone.
Think you must've ducked down for a moment. Maybe time to raise your sights a little.
Imagine if life was like bicycles - where different people came from different places and they added up to more than the sum of their parts when you put them together.
Now, why don't you tell us what you have against guys with dreadlocks?
Cheers, Andy0 -
At risk of being told again this forum is about bicycles and seeing that you are carrying over from the other thread, here goes.
1. Bicycles and people are entirely different. There is no reason for comparing the two except maybe to form the basis of a science fiction movie.
2. If you must make a comparison, let me offer you one that more accurately reflects reality in society. Let's see if this goes over your head. I start with my stock F3C, remove the index shifters, and replace them with suicide shifters. Then I toss the carbon fiber/titanium rail seat with comfort groove and install a Nashbar special. Finally, I install some nice steel handlebars and 36-spoke wheels.
3. Do different people coming together always add up to more than the sum of their parts?
4. If you are the carbon frame, you are a loser in this deal. You are now part of a crappy system. If you are chrome handlebars, you are a winner. Your lot just improved.
5. If you are the guy with dreadlocks, you may be a winner or a loser. I have nothing against dreadlocks per se. The person matters.
Intellectuals that brought us multiculturalism and diversity are destroying the F3C. While it is possible to improve a bike with better parts, the reality is that there are a lot more Denalis, Huffys, and Murrays out there (department store bikes). Just look at what is for sale on Craigslist. Somehow I don't see anyone posting pictures of these bikes on this forum. Nor do I see anyone bragging that they upgraded to a steel fork.
Using this "sum of the parts" argument as a positive analogy takes tons of imagination.0 -

You're quite right - here is not the place for this discussion.
Let's continue it back on the original thread:

You'll have to start and drink the cherry flavour Powerade. Whatever you've got in your bottle clashes with your bar tape/saddle/rims.0

Never knew you could get blue colour drinks. Always thought it was the preserve of detergents and washing up liquids.
Seeing the bike is kitted for touring, you may want to get a little more setback in your saddle. In the position you have at the moment you will fatigue more quickly unless you only happen to do short snap TT.0 -
the blue stuff is tropical powerade but unfortunately does taste of detergent....yeah still working on my position at Mo. only had bike for couple of weeks still fiddling to find comfy position.got some cherry does look nicer doesn't it... lol0

Raspberry ice poles were, for some reason, blue.
This may be a Scottish abberation though (like deep fried pizza)

If it tastes like detergent, it is detergent. Perhaps Toilet Duck.0
