I'm 5' 8" and find a medium Pitch spot on.

6 inches of travel is an awful lot to wallow around on when you're not hitting big trails!

I don't find it wallows to be honest, its a great alrounder and climbs superbly. Its not an old 6" travel DH bike!

I've never thought of its travel as a penantly, sure its a pound or two heavier than a FSRxc Pro but I can live with that.

Sorry SB, I didn't mean that in a derogatory way, I know they're very good bikes. It just seems a bit excessive to me for what I perceive from blakspark's description of his riding.

No offence taken fella. I was a little dubious about having so much travel at first but the bike really blew me away.

Maybe I do ride a little harder than some others but I'd put that down to clumsyness rather than balls out skill

My Pitch can let me be a bit lazy at picking a line too..... can't wait to do the Borrowdale bash again

yeah, i think for my riding your correct, I was getting a little carried away with the pitch.

but i want to make sure the bike i get this time is right for me and what i ride and will last a good few years.

im now deciding between a fsrxc comp 2009 and a boardman fs comp.

im hoping and praying places start to discount the few 09 spesh's they have left!

personally i prefer the look of that to the boardman but i cant ignore that because the spec for the money seems spot on!

Ah wow, spose i'll have to wait till the 2010 one is released.
  • Had my 2011 pitch pro for 3 months and loving it. I'm 6'3 and the Xl is perfect, a lot better fit than my old bike(a 2003 Marin alpine trail).I ride at Cannock chase and to be honest it's more bike than u need there but when I took it to whales it came alive. As for the strength of the bike I'm 18 stone and did my first downhill run over stile cop on it and the bike handled it fine.
The colours for 2011 are splendid but the pro I have in the monster energy colours is just beautiful and gets a lot of attention. It's got better brakes and forks than the previous years and it's also an excellent base to upgrade for any type of rideing you want.
All in all a fantastic bike and good value for money
  • holy thread revival! Seems appropriate with all the 'god talk' flying around the Crudcatcher.
