Is anyone riding on Monday? I have the day off and need to make up for the lack of riding this week sorting my brakes out! Only got the right caliper mount this morning

Lmao so you go and quote my post..

I was going to edit it out tonight, just wanted to give anyone who was interested a heads up...
Riding Boxley 2morrow with Dnormski (Darren) about 10.30 - 11 atm, yet to confirm... Will post when I know...

Oh and andy.. Can you edit out me number of your post? Ta
Not fussed about people ringing me, I'll just give them a nice fat mind f*ck

If we was to go around Mereworth Woods at the right time while me mum is away, we could stop off at a 15th Century Palacial Mansion, perhaps ride the bikes into the pool  We'd be going right around it. Probably wouldn't be allowed but if it was close to the route I'd be fine for parking I expect..
    This is it:

(I used to work there, me mum still does and we go house sit once a month..)

Lol so the new rotor is on then? Where did you guys ride? 37 miles is a good effort. Makes me feel guilty just sitting about :(

Apparently there's some National Cycle week coming up soon, either this month of next.. Whoever told me about it seems to think it was the 12th, and seeing as that's midweek this month it could be next month, which would mean a shit load of riders are doing a big ride around here, meeting in Capstone apparently... Could be worth thinking about... Somewhere new int it

Hmm really?? You do realise it's my 23rd on the 23rd June, which is a Monday (gf's taking me out)
I do however DEMAND that at least 1 person takes me out for a ride, possibly Bedgebury if the weather is nice.
Upon arrival I expect to find a choice of either a Specialised S works, Trek Remedy and a Orange 5, all of which I can test to my hearts content untill I make my choice, at my chauffer's expense :lol::lol:
Seriously, I do wanna get out either Saturday or Sunday on that weekend. My gf don't want me to ride at all that weekend, but I'm sure as hell not missing a ride on my b'day weekend! Come rain or shine, possibly flooding and hurricane's... I WILL ride!!

Oh and Darren was saying about this evans ride to work scheme, in which you can get a 30% tax cut and 10% off your national insurance contributions if you can prove you ride to work and get your company to agree to it..

It was only Ade riding last night. I was just riding up and down Borstall Hill trying to bed the "dustbin lid" in, and we past each other on the Thannet Way. And it will more likely be me locking the front wheel and sliding out than going over the bars, it reminds me of the first time i got the brakes, they are that much more powerfull. I would give away my old 185mm disc but it is slightely warped, and there is verry light scoring on one side where the pads went down to the mettal. If either of you fancy a night in with some 1000grit sandpaper and a disc trueing tool you are welcome to it :) I'v got 2 185mm IS and one post mount caliper adapters too!

Oh and that was good going last night Ade. What time did you get home? It must have been nearly 8 when i bumbed into you.

I rode on a new section at bedgebury today, its been made with the most rediculous large gravel it is so slippery. They have added berms to, shame the gravel slows you down and slips you off the berm so you cant use them, its also been built on the flat section.. Maybe in a year or two when its bedded in itll be ok.

Hopefully it won't take that long to bed in the new sections where they have gravelled it. I was surprised at how many sections have some gravel on them now, compared to when I was last there a few months ago when it was a mud bath!

You gave that a go then? Did you get any grip at all on the corners? What were they thinking with that bloody gravel! To all thinking of riding there, wear knee pads!!! I only scimed a gravel section when i stacked it, i can't imagine how painfull it would have been if i landed right in the gravel  As it was i have been squeezing puss out of my knee all day

Yeah i rode on it, i went for the first berm fast and just slid out. You cant get any speed anyway because you just sink into the gravel. The fact that the area they have built it on is flat means it needs to be fast rolling in order to get speed up to use the berms efficently, but its not :( Maybe if it ever beds in. Some of the repaired sections that were filled with gravel have been there for about a month now which was the last time i went and they are showing no signs of bedding in, the gravel just rolls out from under your tyres.

This thread has some info about Capstone. I certianly wouldn't go over there expecting anything challenging. One of the reasons I'll be returning is that my wife and kid can potter around the nature reserve\pond while I have an hour or so on the bike. Plus it's only 5 mins away from my house

Jon, there's been a change of plan this weekend and my mate is coming down to Kent instead. We might be riding Bluebell Hill on Sunday if you're still about, I'll keep you posted.

There are a fair few good trails around there to use, but what they have done for the track is terrible.
We used to use part of one of the trails (the one through the old farmhouse) but in the opposite direction, so now it is a bit dodgy to use it

Ok cool, I'm definately about and well up for it, was gonna go bedgebury if all else failed.
Of all the weekends I can ride... I really don't want to miss this one! Even if it's only a small ride.
That said, could be worth exploring more between the farm and the rape fields.. I've had a brief look around and there is some classy stuff in there! A very tricky DH too... Well worth a look as it seems there is alot hidden away in that area...

Also, if it is going ahead can you update me by text as my computers still down and looks to be going back for repair..
I wont be online untill NEXT saturday atm...

So yeah, I can only be reached by text!
