I claim the prize for tartiest picutres!. Unless of course Snooks has already aerially photoed his bike perched on the back of a speedboat, can't really be arsed checking through fifteen pages to find out.
Pics get bigger when clicked...
If the weather's being particularly British or I'm commuting via the pub, this funny looking thing gets the gig...

Been using it for the last 2 months to get to work. Actually, start of last week I caught the train to work for the first time in ages due to me suffering from the bird flu...what a fecken joke! Next day, even though I was on deaths door I rode in to work!!! So much less stress using the bike, even when sick as a dog!

I think you can get special racks or at least extension kits that take the rack outsde of the disk brakes<a>road</a>0 -
There is a Topeak Disc rack and a cheaper (and excellent) Lifeline Disc Rack for these situations. They have an extra 2-3cm clearance at the lower mounting.0

I've got the Topeak disc rack, I must admit my heal occasionally clips the panniers.
They are very good racks, especially if your panniers aren't massive like mine :?
Though perhaps the Lifeline version would have been a better choice for me.0 -
I think the Lifeline would be the same as the Topeak in respect of heel clearance. I was impressed with the quality of the lifeline though, punches above its weight!0

Anyone know the weights of these?
There's also the tortec apex rack avalialble.0 -

My Topeak is slightly heavier than a standard rack, but virtually unnoticeable and shouldn't be of any concern.
The reason I bought a Topeak is because I already own one of their trunk bags that operate with the Quick clip mount system and the rack utilises that system, so i can use it in conjunction with a couple of third party panniers.0 -
Currently using a tortec ultralite. Not that I'm super into weight saving, it's just I don't use a rack all the often so I didn't really want to add a Kg for the odd convenience.0

I'm bored sat in the office so took a pic of my bike...
<insert witty comment here>
Also, I have calculated my FCN as 12...although I have no idea what that actually means.0 -

Girv... whats the cateye on the front? Is that a battery? Looks very nice a bike.
Sorry downfader, just noticed your question from, like, 2 months ago
The CatEye is a Velo 5 - the basicest basic base model cycle computer they make (I think). There's no battery pack in any of the pics, not sure what you mean.
It's a decent bike alright, comfortable, if a little on the heavy side at 13.5Kg stock. Also the brakes (Avid BB5) aren't great - they bind a lot and feel at best like good v-brakes stoppy-power wise. I only paid £250 for it though so I shouldn't complain
It's getting rigid forks and slicks soon, I'll post more pics when it's ready.Today is a good day to ride0 -

I must admit that the first couple of times across I kept one foot unclipped though0 -
Started its life as a Genesis Day 01, much has been changed, so component wise, only the seatpost, seatclamp, headset and fork are standard .
Pic taken on a ride I took up to Edinburgh last year .

Here's my steed in it's newly customized state! It's just over a year old and I've already treated it to new wheels :-)
It's also had a few other bits changed (chain, cassette and BB) at the mid-year service so it's not quite standard anymore!0 -

How are yours?
They look nice but i'm still waiting for the tyres to arrive and judging by the forecast I won't be trying them out anytime soon.Rule #5 // Harden The Feck Up.

So I had a nice weekend of bike fettling I fitted rigid forks and slicks to my commute mountain bike, pictures below. On a test ride, the handling is certainly faster and harder, as expected. Tomorrow is the first commute on the new setup, so we shall see how that turns out

ta. It was my first tour, so a few small tweaks to make before I head off again. I don't think a 34x25 was even close enough to a small enough gear.David
