Yeh it needs a new paint job but other than that it's a beauty, original 105 groupset apart from the cranks and rear mech (Suntour Vx) proper big 27 x 1 1/4 wheels with conti ultra sport tyres good for plus 30mph

Even the brakes stop well, the shorter stem was a bargain at £10 from the LBS, brill on the up hills.

if you need parts i have pile of old suntour bits and bobs wheels rear mech SVX and such, brake/gear levers chainset freewheel rear though not front mech, comedy large white bike lights and probably other bits that would be free to good home...

Thanks much appreciated I really like the old Suntour derailleur but the jockey wheels are missing a few teeth and those remaining are pretty worn, I've managed to set it up today with a NOS 7 speed 'indexed' down tube shifter and it works :)

I think a pair of suitable mud guards are in order.

    Greetings!

I keep meaning to post a pic of my bikes - here's the first, my Ridley. I'll post the MTB and trailer-puller shortly!

    Cheers!

Nice bike - how does it perform? I've been considering a Ridley for a future cross bike.

I think that it is fantastic and have no major problems with it. The only minor frustration is that these higher-level Ridleys are purely designed for cross racing and so if you want to use it for other events it doesn't have bottle cage mounts.

I currently have road tyres on it and have no problems with keeping up with the true roadies over 50 miles on road. I need to wait until next Autumn before it gets any proper cross treatment - I can't wait!

  • My one and only bike, Felt Z70 2008. Always has raceblades on for the commute - and pedals! Although i just noticed how much the top-clips have been rubbing at the crank arms so scratching around for some cash to get some SPDs and shoes! :)

  • Here's mine, First pic is how i found it under a load of ivy and undergrowth that was being cut back on the peak forest canal. Several spare bike bits later, i have a single speed commuter. All for the pricley sum of £13 (for a freewheel).

:) Would be nice to have experienced that ride when I was young. Adult speed cycling with optional pedalling.

Impressive effort to LOSE 15 stone so far, you just need to LOSE an O from loose and not use commas instead of full stops now.

Well here is my commuter to be. Got given the bike in pieces earlier in the week by a friend that didnt want it anymore and knew I couldn't afford a new bike, so I have done what I can with it, I finished putting it back together about an hour ago.

Oh and before I get any comments about it not being a proper S/S because I still have the old cassette on etc etc, thats just because im trying out gear ratios for my commute before I finalise it.
