  • Maybe, but the geometry looks different as far as I can tell.

    This is the commute/sportive/weekday/weekend/do-everything bike:

Absolutely loving it; the Alfine hub was a leap of faith, but largely it’s proven to be reliable and low maintenance.

    Yep that's it
Rule #5 // Harden The Feck Up.
Rule #9 // If you are out riding in bad weather, it means you are a badass. Period.
Rule #12 // The correct number of bikes to own is n+1.
Rule #42 // A bike race shall never be preceded with a swim and/or followed by a run.

Sweet. You seem to have nicked my book collection.

I'm currently building a new 2nd/winter bike. It's a Dolan Prefissio frameset: aluminium with carbon forks. I'm going to hang on it: 2009 Campagnolo Veloce; Khamsin wheels; and some shallow drop Ritchey WCS Classic bars. The Felt stem is a temporary solution until I have some spare cash - looking for one a little longer (120mm).

I'm looking forward to having it built; these frames have such a good rep as "winter trainers".

Not really new anymore but my On One Pompetamine with Alfine 8 hub:

    IMG_0020.jpg

Only "upgrades" are M+ tyres (28mm), SKS chromos, FSA-SLK carbon seat post (purely because I needed a zero setback post and these were going cheap) and a Brooks Swift.

Nice tool - but serious handlebar rotation, I take it do don't spend a lot of time in the drops?

At a glance, the frame looks too small. But we're all built slightly different, so I'll leave it there.

    Thanks for the educated observations.

I am a bit of an odd shape- 5' 11" but with fairly long legs proportionally (34" inseam) hence the amount of seatpost showing. A bigger frame and the reach would be too long.

The reach is already a bit more than ideal (hence the bar setup). I'm thinking of reducing the stem length and getting some compact/shallow drop bars.

As it is the bike's actually very comfortable on the hoods/tops but as observed the drops are a bit out of reach.

Same problem I have. A longer than normal head tube usually solves the problem.

Alright. sometimes I commute on this. Had it pretty much from new the frame is from Cliff Pratts in Hull, bought in 1987. Built by me, very attached to it, rides beautifully and still storming after 25 years.6842195886_165e1fe28e.jpg

Pretty bike that. I would level the saddle if I where you and get some light black guards for it and look at some go faster tyres, Continental tours or some such. Perfectly good bike. SDP pedals will make all the difference.

Terrible photo - apologies - but things are coming on now. Everything except the chainset and BB transferred from the other frame and I need to buy tape and cables.

What is up with your white balance? Looks like you live in a post-apocalyptic dystopian world of blue. Bit like this forum, really.
Sometimes parts break. Sometimes you crash. Sometimes it’s your fault.
