My new commuter now ready for action with SKS guards and marathon plus fitted in place of the cx tyres, although p******* were a non event with these to the point I stopped carrying a spare tube and co2, I'm willing to trade some of that for a bit more zip for the 'Summer' so gatorskins are on the cards.

No, I chuck a mudguard on the rear, cant; find any to fit the Forme5 (yet)0 -

Hi Wily, yes it's a CX Team. I really like it but maybe you can get hold of the CX Pro through Wiggle as your in Oz? Anyway the Team is great, I was looking for a replacement commuter/bad weather trainer and wanted disk brakes plus to be able to fit mudguards for our lovely weather.
It's top value and quality, finish is really good, we can only buy the Team in the UK from Halfords who get a bad rap, but to be fair mine was spot on. Some people have problems setting up the BB5 brakes but mine have been fine, they take a hundred km or so to bed in but are great in the wet and the occasional dry spells we get here! I think SRAM Apex on the Team is a bit agricultural after 105 but works well enough and is positive. The gearing is very wide and you can climb pretty much anything.
I really enjoy riding it, very different from my cannondale six, it feels higher up but still a lot of fun. No regrets here!
If you haven't found it there's a dedicated CX thread:-

I'm trying something out at the moment. Now I love my road bike, but it's too pretty to put mudguards and pannier racks on and I can't bring myself to put flat pedals on it either. So, with the weather being so consistently crap (having said that, the sun is cracking the flags as I am writing this), I wanted to be able to get up, stick some shorts and a t-shirt on, put my normal trainers/skate shoes/5 10s on and off to work/shopping/bowling and not have to get changed when I get there, or carry spare shoes etc. I decided I needed a dedicated commuting bike and I had a load of spare bits, so last night I built this:
Now it's a bit heavy, relatively speaking, and I have a few tweaks to make to it, but having cycled to work on it this morning I can say I am pretty pleased so far. The head angle is a bit steep (could do with some travel adjusted forks maybe) and the front brake cable is a horror story at the moment, but I love the gearing and the relaxed position for in and out of traffic. The disc brakes make descending feel much safer and will still work when it rains0 -
This is my bike upgraded from halfords Carrera TDF0

Ty Arthur, yep can get the pro from wiggle... Just in time for winter, wonder if the missus would notice a new bike in the garage?0

Just do what she does with clothes/handbags/shoes - 'what this old thing, I've had it ages'0 -
I've mentioned else where that my trusty Scott S30 developed a cracked frame on the top tube/seat post join. That's currently back at Evans going through the frame replacement warranty (I was one month within my 3 year warranty! *phew*) That will become the new winter commute.
So, here is the new 'dry' ride :
Cube Agree GTC Race
First outing was the Castle100 last weekend where the standard Ultremos surprisingly only took one p*******, I've now changed to Roubaix Armadillos to see how they fair. I've previously used Armadillo All condition and Ultra Gatorskins on the Scott, hopefully the Roubaixs will be a happy medium between those two.0 -
So the new commute bike is in, feels fairly rapid though presently fixed which I don't like, so i'm not chucking it into the bends etc yet.
I'll get a freewheel fitted soon.

Bike looked good in the flesh. I forgot to ask did you end up with the ali version? How is riding fixed with flat pedals?0 -
Given my (in)ability to sit on a proper road bike for any length of time at the moment, I'm using this as my commuter.
Specialized Epic Comp FSR from about 2006 I think, second hand from Fleabay.
XTR mechs and cranks (M960)
Mavic wheelset, Maxxis tyres
XT brakes/shifters
Crank Brothers flat pedals.
Slow, and ugly, but *very* comfy. Sometimes swap out the pedals for SPD's for longer rides, but commute is pretty short really and flat, so the CB's are perfect. Ignore the green tag under the seat, it's a "rego" tag for the apartment block I'm living in.

yes Alu version, seems quicker than the nicked bike, I don't much like fixed but it's fine with flats, not had a problem with peddle strike or forgetting etc.0 -

Here's mine when I first got it a couple of months ago.
Nice and shiney, which is just a distant memory.
Frameset built to my specification by my LBS.
Thought I would be exclusive but Halfords have started to sell them
If you are thinking of getting one they are great bikes

lovely bike, I was torn between the Tifosi and the CX, and looking at yours makes me question my decision , however in the end the disc brakes swung it for me.0

My previous bike was a Croix de Fer and I'm a big fan of disc brakes for wet weather.0 -

A very nice bike, one I considered also! Love the colour, so classy looking. Off topic, can you tell me about your bag setup, I'm looking for something about that size for a mini tour I,m doing later this year..0 -
It's a Carradice Super C with a Bagman Quick Release support.
If you go on the Carradice web site they have lots of different bags for every eventuality (and I've probably got most of them )0
