It is a 2009 Scott Sub 30 on sale at £399 from Evans
I have made a few upgrades to it since those photos
Alivio brake lever/shifter combo
Alivio crankset
Alivio rear derailleur
FSA straight bars
FSA seat post
Avid SD7 Brakes with koolstop pads (these are amazing)
I also put on Shimano M540 pedals, Marin carbon bar end and charge spoon saddle
seen in those photos
Evans state Weight @ 24.56 lbs approx.
So i reckon with my upgrades its under 24lbs nowYou can never have too many bikes!0 -
The new commuter:
Messed up a little bit ordering a silver front brake hanger, rather than a black one. And the forks will be upgraded next year.FCN 2-4.

Mikey - Welcome back after such a long time!
Btw, do you commute on it with that rear disc? Is wind not a problem?David

Hiya Roastie!
Yup, that's the standard commuting setup for me. Wind? What wind down here? Nah, it doesn't seem to make any real difference to the handling.0 -
That's a rather funky bike Got a few looks from others in the office too

I was thinking the same thing too actually!
Mikey - have you ever ridden it around Richmond Park? I was chatting to a chap in/on (?) one this summer. He was doing a handy 25 on the stretch from Robin Hood Gate to Roehampton Gate.FCN 2-4.

Thanks guys! No, not really ridden RP, it's a bit far from my home/work commute. Well not really, but I don't have the fitness or spare recovery capacity at the moment.0 -
well since I'm back on the road, well mostly park!
big heavy lump (50lb) but suits the commute well.
get the odd bent around RP though oddly most seem to be rather slow I think might be hire ones?0 -

Only fitted the SPDs last weekend. Still getting used to them too, so was thinking of changing back, but can't be @rsed with chaging pedals every time I want to race.FCN 2-4.

That reminds me CJ to say I think I've seen you at a set of lights before on the racetrack cos that Kona is noticeably different to most.
Will remember for next time. If its on the move I don't look at bikes - too busy scanning traffic/road. My red face mask should give me away though.Le Cannon [98 Cannondale M400] [FCN: 8]

A red face mask? I've only seen a couple of people with those. One is pretty quick, but can't remember whether he's on a mtb or road bike. Can you post a pic of your bike?
This must have been on the way home? (NFW I'm leaving the house at your silly time of the morning.)FCN 2-4.
