Fran Millar transfers to Rapha.
2020/2021/2022 Metric Century Challenge Winner2 -
Another Trinity Racing alumni joining the World Tour, they must be getting towards double figures now.
2 -
Pidcock, Gloag, Healy, Turner and Walls from their 2020 squad alone.
Edit: From a quick scan of PCS, I also found Lamperti, Watson, Hajek, Nerurkar, Magnier, Pickering and now Donaldson. I may have missed some others.
Quite the talent factory.
2 -
They also supported Christopher Blevins and Haley Batten on the MTB side, both of whom are now amongst the best in the world, i.e. Batten got silver in the XCO at Paris.

When you see how much of the young talent that has gone to Ineos has progressed at Ineos you can see why he would go somewhere else.
4 -
Yeah; Blevins was still at Trinity he won the XCC World title in 2021, and then won the Snowshoe XCO World Cup a few weeks later.

Soren Kragh Andersen to Lidl Trek.
Aaron Gate to Astana.
1 -
Astana are on a mad UCI points spree to avoid relegation. Gate is a good choice, I imagine he's relatively cheap to hire and he's got a lot of points.

Axel Laurance to Ineos

If you cross the middle aisle in Lidl you need to pay the Danegeld now

What type of rider is he - not familiar with him at all.

A cheap one probably.

Current U23 world champion

Classics rider. Won the u23 Worlds in Glasgow, can sprint well from a group and can handle himself on the climbs. His development at Alpecin was going to bump into a MVDP-shaped problem very soon, so it's a good move for him.
2 -
Does that not mean he's got a TP shaped problem at his new gaff, or is it: watch this space?

In a surprise move, Johannes Staune-Mittet (Baby Giro champ, l'Avenir runner up behind Keen Weetabix) has been bought out of his contract at VLAB by Decathlon AG2R.

That was my thinking when I looked up his results, it feels like they both suit the same type of races with Pidock possibly having a bit more versatility. Then again there's talk of Pidcock leaving.

Plus Pidcock doesn't look like kicking on and contending against the big boys mvdp, Pogacar and Evenepoel.

Something of a departure from recent Ineos signings inasmuch as the potential is obvious. He won the GC plus a stage at the Tour of Norway and stages at Catalunya and Tour du Gard, the latter from a small group that consisted of him, Mads Pedersen, Vauquelin and Geniets.
1 -
That's pretty big, he had two years left and had only stepped up from their dev team this season. Hasn't had stellar results this year but still. Any background to this?

None at all. They are promoting Brennan, Nordgagen and Graat from their dev team next season, all of whom are seen as decent talents, the latter two being similar riders to JS-M. Maybe they just feel they can make better use of the space?
Edit: Treat this as a rumour. I've just realised that this is a report on Wielerflits and not official. Some people on X treating it as though it has been done.
1 -
Depends on how much he thinks he can develop. TP seems to have hit a plateau shaped problem.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.Veronese68 wrote:PB is the most sensible person on here.2 -
Sergio Higuita’s rumoured move to Astana now confirmed.

Dan 'Biggles' Bigham to Red Bull-Bora as Head of Tech............Good signing for them.
The Pidcock transfer rumours seem to have died down, and Daniel Benson reckons he'll stay put.

You're a tough crowd: he animated and scored a top 10 in most of the 'Pidcockable' classics he raced this year and won Amstel (again?)

Steve Cummings out of Ineos, Pidders coach in. So I reckon it's safe to say he's staying
1 -
Kurt Bogaerts has been on the Ineos staff since they signed Pidcock, so I wouldn’t read anything into that.

Sorry to hear Cummings is moving on - see one of Bigham's wing commanders is also leaving Ineos to join him at Red Bull - think they will be a good fit there.
I'd be surprised if Castrillo does choose to go to Ineos, I would have thought he would have his pick of teams, and surely Movistar would be a more sensible first WT team for him.
Max Poole must be in some serious demand currently no?

Is Cummings moving on? Nothing has been confirmed and whilst it looks likely, it hasn’t happened so far.

Poole is contracted to DSM until 2027. I doubt Castrillo was on many people's radars before the Vuelta so it will depend if Ineos have his name on paper already. Even in their current state I think I'd pick Ineos over Movistar and they've had a few Spaniards in recent years.
