Didn’t age well 😂

Did somebody say MTB was boring?
That was absolutely insane

After everybody else kept putting the curse on him he needed a bit of help, okay?
2 -
Woah. He was definitely in front when the two tracks came back together but the crowd really didn't like it

Wasn't it Koretzky that Pidcock had the incident with in the Worlds in Scotland as well?

Rick is currently in the garage dusting down his mountain bike 😂

I put that Pids win down to me disappearing to turn some pedals of my own over, having decided his chase back would end as silver. ;)

Knowing the French yes but there were 2 lines and Pidcock was first back on the single track, fair. Koretzky didn’t seem to hard done by with silver crossing the line and looked cooked anyway.

What have the tyre God's got against blighty? Incredible recovery.
Should MTBers wear Lyra though?

No, they shouldn't!

Completely agree, Pidcock definitely had the line ahead of VK. Hopefully Koretzky will acknowledge it was fair and be happy with a (very well deserved) silver.

Nope I was wrong, it was Luca Schwarzbauer. Koretzky complained about the grid placings

You are right, he did seem pretty relaxed about it. It was a fair contest to get the lead and he just came off second best.

For anyone wondering (like me) how Pidcock got back on terms after the first massive attack...

Speaking of the 40s, was it just me or was the wheel change p!ss poor by his mechanics? He rode in pointing to his wheel and they had nothing ready. Didn't matter of course, but that cost him at least another 10 seconds.

Yeah, I think it goes to show how utterly wrecked both of them were, and perhaps gives a bit more context to him allowing that gap to open for the final pass

Pidcock is a winner

Koretzky btw is blaming the error where he slid off, rather than the final pass. Of the latter he basically said that once his foot unclipped there wasn't anything he could do.
In retrospect he might wonder if he should have sat on and waited for the sprint? He was clearly the stronger rider physically by that stage, though Pidcock was maybe more clearheaded.
2 -
Fair play to him. Pidcock was definitely more clearheaded, his RR instincts kicked in when he saw that inside line and went for it, as soon as Koretzky went wide he was always in trouble.

In other sports a French canoeist has just obliterated the field in the C1. In cycling everyone would be muttering darkly, but it was just mad skills - moved totally differently across the water compared to everyone else.
It'll later turn out the French turned up the taps at the head of the course to make it flow faster or something...

A fantastic run. Such skill, power and control.

FWIW, as far as I'm concerned Pidcock is a cycle-cross racer who has transitioned to do some road cycling cos that's where the money is and done some mtb'ing as it seems to be easy palmares.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.Veronese68 wrote:PB is the most sensible person on here.0 -
Rather cynically, it rather helps practicing on the course over and over.
still got to do it, mind.

He started off with BC on the track programme and only did cross for something else to do while there. He was a tracky before he did cross.
Caveat: I may have made this up, but I'm pretty sure I didn't
