Technically speaking, he won on cobbles here as well. That was supposed to be his kryptonite

The rugby sevens has been great so far. South Africa just beat Aus for the bronze. They appear to have a Welsh rasta as their star. I mean there might be a typo in his name and he speaks with a Saffer accent, but Selvyn Davies must come from the valleys, no?

I think that if the guy you're being compared to when it's suggested your palmares might not be all that is potentially the greatest cyclist we've ever seen, who could retire now and still have a palmares that puts him in the all time greats, then you're probably doing OK.

Pretty much completed time trialing.

Whereas I always find myself rooting for Ganna after once reading he's my height and weight!

Clare Balding pronounced Remco's surname as I-van-ooh-pool. Someone should have briefed her perhaps 😂

Anyone else pick up that Cyclo Cross is coming to the winter games in 2030
Mvdp and WVA will 35 and 34.
Pidcock will be 30

Whoever that is was very much secondary to the main story of the unlucky brit.

This is great news if true. Where did you see it reported?

I'll believe that when I see it officially.....It doesn't really meet most of the criteria for a 'winter sport', does it?
However, if true, then it can get better funding as on Olympic sport, and maybe more cycling countries will support it properly - and not just as a youth/ training discipline.

A winter Olympic sport that you don't actually need snow or ice for is probably a good idea for the future

Cos it has to be the same as the women's course in the eyes of some morons with power over these things.

And Lecomte's crash. I reckon she was knocked out when her wheel hit her in the back of the head. She suddenly stopped moving.

Nobody was beating PFP on that course; it was almost set up for her strengths. She turns that big gear and rides away.....we've seen that in the last two Worlds. She's only lost one XCO race this year - the Euros in Romania.
A shame for Puck, but she'll have more opportunities in the years to come; and a good ride for Evie, who would have signed for 5th when she missed 6 weeks with concussion. A month to the Worlds in Andorra - can she repeat what she did in 2021?
A horrible crash for Loana, who looked to be out cold.......hope she's okay.

The thrill of each event and the closeness of the racing varies from race to race.... just like it does in road cycling.
“You may think that; I couldn’t possibly comment!”

Paris cobbles are super dodgy ....
