you are now being downright offensive, as well as spouting nonsense that bears no relation to what i said
i don't need you telling me about antisemitism, i've enough jewish blood to qualify me for the nazis' extermination program, plus some bits of the family tree who never made it out

I'm starting to picture Rick as Captain Redbeard Rum from Blackadder "Opinion is divided on the subject".

Police escort was necessary as sometimes people need protecting from their own ego / stubbornness / stupidity.

It's inevitable there will be an anti Jewish element to the protest given how blurred the lines are between zionism and Jewishness.
We've always had anti-zionists amongst the left and increasingly they've been joined by muslims because one prism through which the conflict is viewed is religious. As the muslim population of the uk increases it's likely that strand of anti semitism will increase with it.

Well I am stunned that dickheads wearing St George's flags as capes are fighting with police already. Stunned!

Is their point that they can't walk the streets of London safely without getting into fights?
0 -
No outrage but they do police these kind of events far more strictly and provoke a response.

I think it might be the 10 pints of Stella that causes the response rather than the police presence.

And the people specifically turning up for a fight.

There 100% is two tier policing on these things. Even today Tommy Robinson has won a case against the Met for wrongful arrest. Irrespective of what we think of his views - my opinion of him is mixed - we can't be so naive as to think the same standards of policing are applied.

Would be interested to know how many of the Palestinian crowd are drunk and actively looking for a fight.

BBC news on radio reporting that little Tommy Two-Names had the case dismissed by court as the wrong date had been entered on the paperwork... Next time.

Are you saying this was a provoked response?

I think there are more police deployed at events where they expect trouble.

Seems like Mr Falter is trying to provoke the police again by organising a 'walk' but not telling the police about it.
Mr Falter called on supporters to gather in large numbers to walk through the capital this Saturday. He said: “No part of London should be unsafe for any of its residents. The Met has acknowledged the condemnation of their behaviour. They have pledged to accommodate any protest or march that we wish to arrange. “But this shows they still do not get it. We are not organising a march. We are planning to walk through London – any part of London we want – as Jews. Walking around as Jews in London shouldn’t have to be a ‘cause’ that we have to march for. It is a right, and we will exercise it.”

Hes not doing a great job about keeping it a secret though :D

It's almost like he wants the police to stop him and / or for more radical pro-Palestinian groups to create trouble and 'prove his point'.

-
Presumably the police won't arrest him for organising an illegal march, so he's going to demonstrate the preferential treatment he receives.
0 -
He runs the risk of being joined by the EDL who are always up for a scrap. All sounds a bit foolish to me.
0 -
That really won't help matters, or are the EDL walking with them so they can make the point they can't walk anywhere to smash things up without being hassled by the police?

Who knows. Hope it doesn’t happen, we just need Braverman to keep her gob shut, and avoid a re-run of Armistice Day.
