  • It wasn’t until Ioane scored the injury time try that Dellaglio realised there were two teams on the park. I got bored in the second half, listening to his endless drone.

Do ITV really think that 3 commentators talking about the same team is how rugby matches should be presented?

They are the pits, even before factoring in the ad breaks.

What happened to the supposed crack down on teams walking to a lineout? Scotland seem to be deliberately taking the piss and the ref is leaving them to it.

Wales are terrible. There’s no strength in depth, leadership from the new captain is poor and the kicking has been awful.

Absolute shambles. Surely Wales have a better option at 10 than Costelow?

  • I happen to know that Adams wasn’t even playing last night. He started the game as a crock.

This is turning out exactly as I expected. Wales are finally repeating the “benefits” of an inept governing body and its ludicrous policies.

They gave us one for the irony thread this week, when crying that keeping the six nations free for ordinary folks to watch would be disastrous for Welsh rugby.

Still, they’re going to fix it by yet another reform at Premiership level because it is all the fault of traditional clubs not the shockingly underperforming regions.

Half the Welsh lineouts in the first half lost. Quite a few of them were in decent attacking positions. Back to my regular rant that limiting your selection options to, mainly, four very poor regional teams is ludicrous. It simply doesn’t give enough options once you have a few injuries.

Credit to Scotland though. Their defence has been excellent and their kicking game spot on then they look dangerous when they do get a chance to run. Basically the complete opposite.

Thanks to Wales for making Englishmen feel a bit better about things... 🥴

    A game of two halves?

The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

Yet again Wales look better when freed from the shackles of a turgid game plan. Changes and 2 and 10 have made a huge difference.

Jiffy rather p1ssing all over the bias points above... 😁

Danger now is Wales revert to the original game plan now they are back in the game. Suggests it was mainly tactics rather than the players to blame for the first half. That first try not being awarded as a penalty try could be costly as the conversion was missed.

In the England game it wasn’t so much the commentators getting over-excited by the English performance so much as they were only talking about one team in a very tight game.

That’s game over need to hang on to the losing BP now.

One of those entertaining games because both sides were a bit rubbish so it was balanced....

So that not awarding a penalty try ultimately made the difference. Didn’t quite hear what Owens was saying about that. You can’t give a 27 point head start though. Great game and hopefully they’ll learn how to best play in future games (I.e. don’t keep kicking the ball away).

Not sure that’s fair. Scotland were very good first half and Wales were very good second half. Scotland in particular executed their plan nearly to perfection in that first half.

  • Well it was entertaining in a mad sort of way.

Actually a better result than I had expected.

If only they’d defended in the first half like they did in the final play. Two points is a decent result from that in the end. Tomos Williams, Lloyd and Dee have to start next week. Liked that Teddy Williams, not seen him before. Very rare to see a prop play a full game these days too.

Percentage of Scots who'd have settled for 29-27 before kick-off, 100%.

Percentage of Scots who'd have settled for 29-27 at half time, 0%. 🤣

How many would have settled for 27-26 though 😉

Para mi: yeah; hmm; oh; oh shxt; oh 'kin L; yes c'mon; phew. 'Interesting' game.

(Though only played a few rugby matches as it wasn't a thing in my school / town, hockey instead, I did play some as a 2nd row. From today's and from last night's match, I kept going 'so how are you supposed to tackle these days?')

Was good to see a common sense approach by the ref on the two tackles with head contact (one on each side). Sometimes no matter how much effort you make to get it right you’ll make contact with the head. I feel like last season they would probably have had a yellow with mitigation or at the very least a penalty.

    Retired from rugby too young.

    Died too young.

Possibly the greatest of the Welsh 10s?
