How about those in the article?

Could be summarised as 'policies not fully detailed' as far as I could be bothered to read. Labour is always a very distant third in my constituency so it's not really something I can have any influence on. As I've said before, I don't think I can remember ever voting Labour.

Good for you...

Another Labour policy has arrived - no reintroduction of banker bonus cap.

That isn’t “labour policy”. It’s just respectable behaviour not to immediately undo everything the previous govt did.

Seems close to a policy to me.

Is that an issue? I thought it was widely accepted that bringing in the cap simply pushed base salaries up and / or lost people to other countries. A classic case of legislation brought in as a knee jerk to the resentment to Bankers post GFC not really doing what was intended. It was really just to satisfy the public's anger at 'greedy Bankers'.

Not at all, but Labour hasn't published many policies to date, so thought it was worth noting.
We have VAT on private schools fees, no cap on banker bonuses and greater alignment with the EU. That the first two are at odds with the last one is slightly amusing.

Really rather pathetic cave-in to a few people saying mean things about the £28bn investment.
Also saw some idiot claiming Labour would renationalise the railways, as though that would be some huge change. 🙄

Given the potential plan came from the Labour shadow transport minister less than a couple of months ago, you could well be right about some idiot claiming that.
Quote: "Sir Keir Starmer’s shadow transport minister has pledged to pursue a “radical” plan for Britain’s railways under a Labour government.
This includes potentially reversing the privatisation of the rail industry that took place in the mid-1990s, although companies are lobbying against the proposed changes."

The point being that the current government have already mostly re-nationalised already.
I mean at least do some very basic research.

"Companies making guaranteed profits from government subsidies are lobbying against changes to the system". Well, stone me.

I know it's already part way back to the bad old days of British Rail. So your point is what?

Announcing you are going to nationalise something that is already mostly nationalised is pretty stupid.

You're too young to have experienced the 'joys' of British Rail.
"I spent most of my money on birds, booze and fast cars: the rest of it I just squandered." [George Best]0 -
I assume Labour realise they won't get attacked with that as it would involve the conservatives admitting they have stealthily nationalised (some of) the operating companies.

Is that sarcasm? I'm not used to posts of agreement on this forum!

IIRC, Northern Ireland's rail passenger numbers have shown similar trends, despite having remained in public ownership. Happy to be corrected if my recollection is incomplete/wrong.

Sorry, I should have used a monkey emoji to make it more clear.
What's the y axis? Average delay in minutes? Customer satisfaction? Cost to taxpayer?

Only worthwhile if population increases are accounted for.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.Veronese68 wrote:PB is the most sensible person on here.0 -
I’d say it’s more a measure of the peak age of car travel.

People just suddenly decided trains offered an alternative to their cars?
