Look, although you were joking, I thought you raised an interesting rest-day topic and I thought it was ok to discuss it if we weren't talking about specific riders. Obviously, I've wound people up, I apologise, and will desist.0 -
Brailsford has just suggested that G is ready to lead the team in a GT. Poels is also gunning for leadership at the Giro. Konig I'm sure will want a bite too. I suspect that is why Richie is off.
I hope to be proven wrong at some point but really don't see G as a GT contender (at least, not for a few years).

Back in 2011 when I used to post on the Cycling News forum, I said that Thomas would one day be top ten in a Grand Tour - I said probably not the Tour.
