+1.
Unless you are talking about volume of substance per rider.
To my mind there has been a decline, the word massive would not form part of the sentence.
Rest day, schmest day!!! Pah.

Wow - great story! Go back and check my original post: I said "quite a few will be', which is in line with my last post (handfuls). Do you think no-one's doing it now?
Good show. Gad we got that squared away. Rampant doping committed by 'a few', 'a handful'.
Sorry, I've no idea what you're talking about now. Why did you raise the subject on a public forum if you don't want to discuss it with other people?0 -

He never does. He just rejects anyone out of hand if they think there is still a doping problem. Naively.0 -
Nothing personal then - I'll take it as a 'welcome to the forum'!0

I think 9% of cyclists are doping. But I'm just guessing.
Looking forward to this week. TJVG looking strong, but there's a long way from there to legit overall contender. If Bert is in Giro form he'll be lucky to make the podium. Nibali needs an Aru-esque rebound in form. Quintana the interesting one. Tomorrow should be a pretty straightforward fight between them.0 -
Word from Astana is that Lars Boom is feeling really sick and could be a DNS tomorrow.0

Quintana is usually better in the 3rd week. Froome reckons he feels much fresher than 2013 where he was 'hanging on' after half way. Nibs did not have the condition last week and if he does Aru-esque then alarm bells will ring. Berto has suggested several times that he is lacking punch, but we can't always take what he says at face value. TJ is riding well but can he keep it up and not go missing on a stage? Not sure there is anyone else, maybe Purito I guess, who can challenge for top 5.0 -
Touching seeing Alberto Contadors reaction during the press conference over the news of Ivan Basso. As Rick said, it bring things into perspective as to what's important in life.0

Interested to see how Uran goes this week - he seems to have achieved a very stealthy 6th in GC.0

I can't see him finishing above 6th unless Nibs really is off colour.0 -
I suspect you're right and he'll fade, but he had a really strong finish to the Giro. Not sure if that works for or against him though!0
-
Brailsford has just suggested that G is ready to lead the team in a GT. Poels is also gunning for leadership at the Giro. Konig I'm sure will want a bite too. I suspect that is why Richie is off.0
-
Will Uran have any teammates for the longer climbs, or is it more likely Lefevere will try to wrap the rest in cotton wool for Cav to have a strong leadout train for S15 and Paris (assuming these will be his only realistic chances of stage wins)?0

I put and e/w bet on Uran Uran... But that was before Martin broke his collarbone losing him some seconds in the TTT. I think he can still get on the podium.
Froome, TvG, and Uran for the top three?!0 -

I hope to be proven wrong at some point but really don't see G as a GT contender (at least, not for a few years).0 -

Seems less likely than other combinations but who knows! There's a fair chance a couple of the top-tier guys could seriously blow each other up at some point, opening up a more pedestrian route to the top 3.0 -

In the full quote he also says that Gee will need to prove he can lead the team. I would say that in GTs he has nt done that. Classics and maybe 1 week races yes but a real GT guy, I don't see it.We're in danger of confusing passion with incompetence

Lady Garden talking about his consistency. Rather setting himself up for a 16 minute time loss this week on one stage.

Who?0 -
I absolutely think G is strong enough at all the elements needed to be a GT leader. My only concern is that he does seem to tire at the end of races when leading, but that could simply be due to not being used to that pressure for an entire stage race.
I'd say let him ride GC at the Vuelta this year, but he's already had a long, hard year.0 -
Flip! today was boring...0

Your posting style and chat suggests you don't need a welcome since you've been here before.
If in the unlikely event you are new, here's some advice: come into a forum mid Tour chatting purely doping won't win you many friends. Especially if you are argumentative; you haven't built up any good will. So try to be constructive, friendly, and avoid topics that deliberately wind people up.
If you want to chat pure doping, there's another forum ready made for you.

Who?
Vayer has posted a video of the Ventoux climb overlaid with Froome's SRM data. Apparently his HR doesn't move enough.Team Sky are consulting their lawyers following what they believe to be the potential hacking of Chris Froome's training data files in order to suggest he may be using performance enhancing drugs.
The British team revealed the suspected theft on Monday as they prepared to face the inevitable doping questions which are sure to accompany any big performances from Froome in the Tour de France’s mountain stages in the Pyrenees and the Alps in the next fortnight.0 -
