Froome was barking like a dog (howling at the stem), again, in yesterday's final.

It was obvious to anyone who watched the stage that his form isn't where it was a month or so ago.
It didn't look to me as if he could have made it over the top with lead group.
It was also obvious to anyone who watched that he had Pete Kennaugh with him when he punctured.
Still, it's good to see Frenchie keeping to his new "being more positive, fair and impartial about Sky" posting protocol."Science is a tool for cheaters". An anonymous French PE teacher.0 -
Looks like it is time to hang my head in shame. Yes, I like F-Keys, but that really shouldn't be public knowledge, and yes it was a paradox not an oxymoron.
PTP is wide open today - often an indication of a good stage.0 -

There were 50 riders in the front group. It was an easy stage. 100% my man Geraint could have been with them.
So what if Froome is there. You don't just jettison your 2nd best rider who is also in the leader's jersey.
Also worth noting that Sky were drilling it on the front hence why Geraint was unable to make it back.
I should just add that Kennaugh (solid rider) did stop to help him back, but with the determinded pace making by Sky in addition to the fact PK had been flogged on the front for the last 100km, he was unable to help G too much.Contador is the Greatest0 -
Thomas couldn't get back to the peloton even with the help of Future GT Winner Kenyuck and enough drafting of cars that I made a joke to my o/h about him getting a fine from the comms.
Sending any more riders back would have been sending good after bad. It was a badly timed mechanical, but they're riding for Froome. Christ, there was probably a time that they wouldn't even have sent any riders back for him. They gave a solid dom to help and a fighter's chance to get back.
And this is coming from someone who can't stand the team.Team My Man 2018: David gaudu, Pierre Latour, Romain Bardet, Thibaut pinot, Alexandre Geniez, Florian Senechal, Warren Barguil, Benoit Cosnefroy0 -

The_Boy wrote:anyone got a stream for this?I suspect that Tom today has a small chance. It is a bit on the price trend and how he digests the two passes of the second category. They are fairly far from the finish line, but in quick succession, which can be a problem.

Rick Chasey wrote:Has Alaphilippe come out of nowhere the past 4 weeks or have I not been paying attention?
Yes, bit of a break through over the past few weeks.
But hasn't Frenchie been going on about him for a while? Decent showing at Tour de l'Ain and 3rd at the London Pru race thing last year. And at l'Avenir the year before.0 -
Have they bought this race?
He had an actual sprinter sitting on his wheel coming into the final corner.
The camera pans up, then in the next shot, coming out of the corner he'd disappeared. :P
Apart for the bit of comedy action from some of the big names, the stage end was inevitable.

Fair.
Meant more - is he one of those juniors who is tipped by anyone and everyone who pays attention to juniors?0 -
gerrans and albasini's tactical awareness in that run in was superb..and they had every turn nailed. Looked like they knew the road real well."If I was a 38 year old man, I definitely wouldn't be riding a bright yellow bike with Hello Kitty disc wheels, put it that way.
