Oh hai, I thought I'd join to see what it's like in here. Incidentally, I'll be using the name 'Matt' on BR and I will fight whoever has the Matt name on here to the death for it!

he DOES actually.. quite a lot.. you have to realised here in WMTB we had NO admin a year ago and NO mod (some will say it was better then without me as a mod). I will stand up for the fact Admin does actually want to keep as many of us happy as possible.. just give him a chance.

he did, he was at the meeting i was at with Cazz and IIRC he was at the previous one.. and he argued our points but also put forward Future POV.

TBH I think most people for here and MBUK will be fine with the change. If it all goes like this mini merger has then its will be good fun. Roadies should be fine as long as we leave them B, you know get there afternoon naps in.

That doesn't sound like consultation. How many forum members were represented?

Hmm if only there were some place where all forum members could have been asked how they felt about it, you know, like some kind of forum for discussing things.

a consult gives the idea the change was requested by us..
the meeting was to allow Future to put out their idea of their online presence to us and see our reaction of they way they are going in the future.
you CAN NOT point a finger at admin because personally i will not allow it. He has helped shape the forum more in the last 12 months (or however long he has been admin'ing WhatMTB) than anything previous (early 2003 on WMTB forum). He is just the face of the forum for future nothing to do with the actions behind the scenes and i would as a mod on the forum ask that we are ALL a little lighter on Admin as he does lots of work in the back of the forum and actually is a nice fella...

I'm not blaming admin1, I questioning the actions of admin in the wider sense, those responsible for the running of these fora.

anyway where do you get of with this "I'm the daddy" - you CAN NOT point a finger at admin because personally i will not allow it.- tosh?

Yes, he's a nice fella and he's done good things for the forum, doesn't make him infallible. Hitler reduced unemployment in Germany and was always faithful to his missus, yet I think there are some who might say that not all his policy decisions and actions were right.

i didn't "accuse" you of blaming admin..
and yes your right he is the answering face of future on the forum, i'm sure when and IF he will let everyone know what he can. i have already said to much from the meeting and could have my account removed if future felt like it..

i am not "getting off" with a "i'm the daddy" attitude..
WhatMTB was a admin free and mod free forum for a LONG LONG time, ruled by moronic posts, insults and spam.
I was saying I PERSONALLY will not allow any blame to be pointed AT him, that's not "tosh" it's a request that no blame be put @ admin. I feel he has helped change the forum for the better. If you feel strongly about the changes i suggest you mail admin and ask him for steve's e-mail so you can put your opinions to him as the web development person for future..

I've read through a few topics and TBH, theres not much difference between WMTB and MBUK. Just a distinct lack of nooby posts here( and of course the 'box )
I can see the merge having it's many advantages with a greater bank of knowledge etc, and as long as the mods keep up their good work, there will be no disadvantages.
