Sorry, MBUK here, thouht i'd get used to the change before it happens, oh and were not all like that. But most of us have our moments.

Guys, you all seem like a nice lot, I can't think its going to kick off masively inless people want to, which would be a shame for all. Secondly, stop biatching about your post counts though. If you can't judge a member by what they type then sod off. You don't own a forum by having high posts. Earn it baby.

Now, I'm not gonna read all 11 pages, but here's my tuppence.

anyone who runs forums/ Bulletin Boards knows how fragile and vulenrable they are. There is little predictability about whether or not a forum will be used. Future have been very lucky, they have a number of reasonably succesful forums associted with their magazines. I kinda think, if it ain't broke...

Will the service be improved by an amalgamation of the forums? Is the amalgamation something which users are requesting? It won't take much to put regualr users off, and whilst this forum sees a lot of traffic, most of it is from a samll percentage of the members.

A single login allowing access to all forums seems to invite mischief, especially with the rivalry and snobbery which already exists. I use at least one of the other forums and the tone of it is very different to this one and i modify my behaviour accordingly. Certain things are acceptable within this forum which would not be accepted on others, furthermore there would be period of familiarity, where folks from other forums would have to get used to the personalities within this one and whilst some people are able to maintain a steady upstanding personality, I, and others, have been know to have one or two aberrations. There will be no doubt many posts of the type "oh, he's ok once you get to know him"

Well, there's my tuppence, you probably want some change.

I generally spend my time on mbuk but looks like I've got an account on here too *waves*

I see this move as a good thing.

It also means that there will be a greater level of knowledge/experience to share.

I couldn't give a money's stuff what they do with the websites as long as they don't shut them down.

At the "meeting" Fozz and I were at we definitely impressed upon them the importance of distinguishing between the different readerships of the different mags and how it should e reflected on the forum.

Basically they were gonna change it whether we liked it or not, they just wanted out tuppence worth.
