LOL. Dave's driving on country roads is a bit OTT. He tends to really overbrake going into corners and does't accelerate much or overtake. His motorway cruising is fine though. I learnt that on the way down to Wales,so I did all the A roads and let him do the motorway bit.

How would you know??? Your car didnt have any brakes, just some spongy middle pedal that didnt do anything[:0]

Ever since I had a bad crash on a country road (many years ago) my cornering has been very slow[:(]

LOL. I never used the brakes. They were crap. I just dropped a gear and pointed it into the corner hoping it didn't understeer too much.

I dont think it is any longer than GT Black or Inners, just the 1 1/2 drive that adds a bit at each end.

the slabs's not bad at all - the qualifier before it is harder ... and i'd say the "terrible twins" are harder too.

it was a couple of years ago when i rode it though - so it probably seemed a lot scarier then than it would now!

I've not been for about 3 years either. I remember there being a few rocky sections but they're probably pretty tame compared to Kirroughtree/Innerleithen/Laggan/Golspie/Learnie. It'll be interesting to see what it's like these days.

I had a bad crash on the Slab and thats when i decided to buy knee pads - was about 3 years ago and I was pretty new to bikingso hopefully get on better this time.

I am guessing John and Alan could meet up on route and share a drive down, as for the rest??????

I am happy to drive down or be driven, will share petrol costs whatever. If I drive i can only take two bikes inc mine as still no rack.

I could either pick up Saz on the way down or share with anyone else who wants to drive by my house.

If the Edinburgh guys can get a car that will take three bikes and three people we could have Hamish, Nick, Stuart / HH and MC / Me and Saz.....or something like that.

Nick - do you fancy sharing a car then? I'll happily drive. It'd be easier if you could head out to mine as we can nip along the A70 (with a couple of miles diversion) and we're on our way, rather than meeting up at Fairmilehead and taking the A702 or even worse, me having to head near to Easter Road. [;)]

I expect its a couple of hours drive so I can get to Hamish's 8-9 am (ish). I suspect he wont be getting up before 9 though.[;)]

No worries, Nick. I should be okay for getting up - I'll have made the transition from night shift to daytime so I'll actually get a hefty lie in if it's 8.30 - 9 that we're leaving (Dalbeattie is about 1.45 - 2hrs from mine IIRC)
